Description

Cold and wind: these things matter not to the mountain warrior.

You'll find the North Face Men's Super Zephyrus Insulated Hooded Jacket worn by endurance athletes who stake their residence amongst frigid, wind-hammered mountain peaks. Designed to be lightweight, yet insulated enough for alpine travel, this wind jacket pairs its warmth with clever stretch-panel vents along the body. Don this versatile jacket for dry, cold weather that challenges your push to the summit.
  • Polartec Power Stretch panels help vent away excess heat and keep the fit of this jacket flexible
  • PrimaLoft One insulation offers warmth without unnecessary weight or bulk, and retains it's insulting properties even when wet
  • Partially insulated hood protects your head and provides an additional measure of warmth where it matters most
  • Durable bound cuffs roll with the abuse of mountain exploration and feature thumb loops to keep your sleeves in place

an amazing hybrid

This piece just works on a lot of levels...sometimes the designers and athlete testers nail it and this is one of those cases. Ridiculously comfortable and functional. I use it for skiing alpine climbing and even around town.

Quality issues

I loved the athletic fit of the jacket, it was super warm, and was everything i was looking for..

Unfortunately the more and more i wore it (everyday to school), the more the threading on the jacket began to come lose. I ended up returning the jacket because of it.

The primaloft also began to shed from the jacket...It scattered all over the rear side continuously everyday.

It's a great jacket, just beware of the quality. I wore this jacket probably for 3 months for this to happen.

If it won't stand up to the "rigors" of wearing to school, how the heck can I have confidence in it 10,000' on a mountain.C'mon Pedro ,YOU need to pick your responses more intelligently!!!!!!

Zephyrus Jacket....

Good athletic fit.... packs away small in your pack... Good warmth, great on cold days ski mountaineering and ski touring....

Is this jacket also waterproof?

Is this jacket also waterproof?

Responded on

No, it is not waterproof. The face fabric is nylon with powerstretch panels under the arms for mobility, and insulated with 40 grams of Primaloft. So, you can use for an outer layer in milder conditions or as a layering piece in more brutal conditions.

does anyone have any idea if this jacket tends to run small or big? true to size? i am 5'-8" and 160lbs and i would like to be able to run a t-shirt and a light weight fleece under. any sizing info would be great.

Responded on

Very comfortable but I found it to run 1 size small. I normally wear a large but XL fit great with t-shirt or thermal underneath. Great pockets and zippers. Dig it.
