I use this jacket for spring skiing, spring/summer/fall running/snowshoeing, biking, hiking...whatever. It is super lightweight and packable and comfortable.

i ended up getting the small and it fits great!! there's plenty of room for me to layer up when it's cooler out.

Hi Helen- This jacket is a performance fit, so compared to other North Face jackets I would say that this jacket fits trim. If you were going to use it a warmer weather shell without layers, I think the small would be the way to go, but if you are looking for a little room to layer I would bump up to the medium.
Hope this helps-

Too short

This is a really cute jacket but it was a little too short for my style. If you want a jacket to cover your behind, don't get this one. The Venture is longer.

i'm just wondering .. since this jacket looks pretty thin, is it going to be warm enough for the winter season with the snow and all ?

It is definitely a thin lightweight jacket which means besides blocking the wind/rain it doesn't really insulate you from the cold. If you layered properly (baselayer, fleece, etc) it could be warm enough for winter use. But as Ingrid mentions above and I would have to agree it makes a better spring skiing and summer and fall shell jacket.

Extremely light yet durable

I am surprisingly in love with this jacket. When I got it, I first thought there was no way it'd keep me dry in a downpour since it's so thin. Lately, Mother Nature's let me test that out, though, and it proved to work great. I used it biking in Gooseberry, hiking in Park City (it's breathable and light) and got compliments on it at a party on Saturday, too. Above all, it takes up hardly any room in the pack when you need to shed it.
