Depending on how you look at it, The North Face ST Agent Hooded Jacket is either the burliest sweatshirt you’ve ever seen or one of the most versatile tops you’ve ever come across. Either way, feel free to take it skiing or snowboarding on bluebird days, wear it around town, or sport it on one of your patented, mid-mountain reconnaissance missions.

  • Heavyweight polyester fleece fabric seals in the warmth and blocks out the cold, and the HyVent weather protection enhances water- and wind- resistance
  • Breathable fabric wicks sweat away from your skin and helps shed excess heat
  • Adjustable cuffs and drawcord hem help block snow and cold from entering
  • Adjustable hood comes with a fixed brim to shield your eyes from sun and stormy weather

Bottom Line: Does thy bidding.

Simply great!

First off, I have to say that I love how great this jacket fits and how nice it looks! It is so light! So do not expect it to be a bulky jacket at all; it is actually very thin. However, it keeps out cold and does not let wind get through at all times! It is also completely rainproof as well. I don't know how they can make a jacket that is thin yet at the same time so versatile during the horrible winter storms that we've had over here at the eastern coast this year. I wear it in rain, snow, cold, whatever the condition is. The only thing is that if it is really cold outside, it is definitely a good idea not to just wear a t-shirt under; you should also wear a fleece or a sweater or like another thin long sleeve jacket, sweatshirt, shirt, etc. That way not only will the cold be kept out but you will also be warm if it is very cold and you have to be outside for long. I don't mind this because I feel that wearing a t-shirt during winter conditions is not really smart move anyways whether you are outside or inside. If you are like me, then this is the jacket for you. Oh and the hoodie is really a great addition to this steeptech as well. It doesn't come off your head when wind comes blowing at you and also keeps your head warm and dry if its cold or raining. Overall, I would definitely recommend this jacket because you can basically use it every season of the year.

How is the fit compared to the denali? Is it more fitted? Should I go a size up or just order the same size?

Let just say I wear this sweatshirt just about every day this winter and I plan on wearing it for as long a I can or in tell the spring heat makes me take it off. This jacket would be something you'd see 007 wearing while jumping out of a window, swing off a power line, and landing on a train all while shooting at some international terrorist that has a anthrax bomb that could take out the whole west cost. With all that being said. I now have bought all the ST jackets and sweatshirts. A must for any North Face collection.

The ST Agent should be plenty warm for a trip to New Zealand. I have the ST sweater (which is more like a jacket). Just remember, it may be water resistant, but it's not water proof. Best to have shell to go over it for rain. The jacket does turn heads.

I am going to New Zealand South Island for a family holiday and I like this jacket. We are travelling in March (Autumn) and I would like to know if this jacket is heavy enough for the weather or if I need to go for a TNF varius jacket instead.

I live in NZ middle of North Island in a place called Rotorua. I am looking for a jacket for North pole area and noticed your question. This jacket is only just ideal. You will buy better, cheaper in NZ. If you are mainly indoors it will do the job but really needs to be water/wind proof if you are out and about. Look up www.kathmandu.co.nz US$100 get about NZ$133

Good to Go

Great looking jacket. Very similar to the ST Hooded Sweater I got. I want to try Silo Ice Climbing here in Iowa and I think this thing will work out just fine. It stretches in all the right places. Just remember, it's wind and water resistant, but not waterproof. Keep a shell handy for serious rain. The hood does not adjust at all, but fits nicely over a climbing helmet.
