Specially sized for The North Face Spectrum 23 tent, this footprint's fitted nylon material extends the life-span of your tent by preventing wear and tear. The specific sizing of the Spectrum 23 Footprint prevents water from pooling between the tent and footprint. For long camping excursions or one night getaways, the Spectrum 23 Footprint keeps your tent clean and dry. Acting as a barrier between your tent and the ground, the footprint also eases camping clean-up because you can simply throw the footprint in the washing machine or hose it down and wash away any mud or dirt. This footprint attaches to the tent poles via grommets.

While it will protect the bottom of your tent better than not having anything, footprints are cut specifically to the shape of a particular tent, and having one that isn't the right shape or size can lead to trouble (like water pooling under the tent).
The easiest option is probably to make your own footprint. Get a piece of whatever you want to use for a footprint (a tarp works but is heavy. painters plastic is waaay lighter and works really well), set up your tent on top of it, trace the outline of the tent, and then cut inside that line (so that none of the footprint sticks out from the edge of the tent. Voila, instant tent footprint.

This little item did wonders. Kept the moist sand from sticking to the bottom of the tent, making packup a breeze, no more wiping the tent as I roll it up. It insulated me one more layer from the cold desert earth & nothing stuck to it. Very light wieght. A valuable item in my gear.
