At first glance, The North Face Women’s Snow Sneaker might seem to be merely a casual skate shoe, but it has a secret—its waterproof breathable HydroSeal membrane and 100 grams of PrimaLoft ECO insulation are ready to do battle with the harshest days of winter. A snowshoe heel tab and a gaiter-compatible D-ring prepare you for off-trail forays into the woods, and the gum rubber sole features HydroStopper pods to keep you upright on icy city streets.

Bottom Line: A sneaker equipped for the snow.

Slippery!

Yes, these shoes are warm and cozy, but the main reason I bought them is for traction on the ice and snow. The lady at North Face told me they had little bits of crushed glass on the tread so they'd be super grippy on the ice. NOPE. I slide all over in these things.

If you want warmth, get this shoe. If you want to be a little safer walking on ice, do not get this shoe.

Love these snow sneaks! Very comfortable, nice toe box that doesn't squish any. Love all the different materials on the shoe, great look. Very warm, rode my street bike with these, couldn't feel any wind, kept toes nice & warm. Great tread, and love the recycled idea.

These shoes are wonderful. I work at a Ski Resort outside all day. My feet are dry and warm. This is the first shoe to stand up to my demanding needs.

Absolutely love 'em

Bought a pair of these for my wife for Christmas. She says she absolutely loves 'em and will be disappointed to not be able to wear them in the summer. She says they're way cute, warm and all around good for winter.

grippy

I love the way the shoe looks, and I like that the tread is super-grippy but not really thick on the outside (as in, it still looks like a casual sneaker). I've been wearing these in the snow and ice here in Utah, and my socks have stayed totally dry (and I haven't landed flat on my face on the ice either). That's a nice change from the last few winters where I've worn sneakers and dealt with soggy socks. The cuff is a bit puffy, which I was afraid would feel odd, but it feels fine.

Less than perfect

I'm an indecisive person and I have a hard time knowing what I want always, but when I saw these I knew I didn't have to look any further. Once I recieved them, though I was dissapointed to find that they didn't fit my foot right. My shoe size is an 8.5, but I have a wide foot, so I need a lot of room in the toe box. While this did have lots of room, it was too long and when I walked the shoe bent on top of my toes. I also live in a snowy northern climate and after looking at them I was less impressed with the warmth. I didnt wear them outside but they weren't what I need in a shoe. My final complaint was that there wasn't a lot of support in the shoe, which I like to have.

So if you live in a climate with moderately cool weather they should work well and if you don't have as many feet problems like I do. It was a good shoe, but I was just dissapointed that I wasn't what I needed.
