Looking for a comfortable winter shoe, but not interested in a bulky boot? The North Face Men's Snow Sneaker II is the solution to your desire to sport a casual shoe in winter without sacrificing warmth, waterproofing, and traction.

  • HydroSeal waterproof membrane totally blocks moisture from penetrating the suede upper
  • 100g PrimaLoft Eco insulation warms your foot even in subzero winter temps
  • Winter Grip outsole is engineered to remain soft (instead of getting too firm) for enhanced traction
  • Ice Pick rubber (within the Winter Grip outsole) hardens as temps drop to provide maximum traction on slick, frozen surfaces
  • Heel tab makes it compatible with snow shoes
  • D-ring allows you to attach a gaiter to keep snow out of your pant leg and the shoe upper

Bottom Line: It's not a boot, but the Snow Sneaker certainly isn't a typical shoe, either.

Very warm shoes - I don't think I'll be able to wear them out of winter, unless the mercury drops real low. The leather takes a day or two to soften up when they're still new,but after that they are super comfortable. They sole performs well compared to other winter shoes I have, but one should still exercise caution when on iced pavements and so on. They fit true to size, only gripe I have is that the laces are a bit short when wearing thick socks in them.
Overall I feel that this shoe was money well spent!!

Short laces

I also had a problem with the laces being too short, but have solved it by simply not lacing the last top hole on the shoes. Hope this helps someone else too?

Great for casual use, but a little tough on the heel

Great shoes for traction and warmth when tromping around in the snow. Very stylish for casual wear as well. My only issue is on the pressure around the achilles, which caused me some soreness after a long hike. I will try a heavier sock next time, and hope for a softer heel.

These shoes are super warm. I wear them around Park City, UT all winter and always stay comfortable and on my feet. The tread is excellent.

stylish but...

just picked these up about a month ago as a casual/skate shoe alternative for fall and winter and so far i still love how they look and feel. not to be too critical since i am not wearing these in the snow yet (as is their stated purpose) but i am having some trouble with some seperation of the rubber outsole and the foam support right under the heal all the way to the back of the shoe which will need to be glued sooner or later. its really not a huge ordeal but less than thrilling for the price. in terms of warmth they feel good and definately not too hot so you shouldnt be worried about the primaloft unless your wearing these in the desert or on the beach. the tred is aggressive and should be good for snow- i will update when we get the goods. these should be perfect for roaming the base area/around town this winter and perhaps the occasional booze fueled retro snowskate session- if anything theyll look great in the ER.

I bought these shoes last year and had the same problem. They are very warm in the winter, but the sole is the first thing that wears out.

mission accomplished

These shoes do what they're supposed to. They have great traction in snow, and they keep my feet perfectly warm and dry. Pair them with some Smartwool socks and you'll be perfectly comfortable. Occasionally some snow will slip inside of them because they're low tops, but between the primaloft insulation and the Smartwool socks that I wear them with, my feet stay warm and not clammy at all. The North Face sizing has always been right on for me. Also, these shoes look super sharp. Haven't had them very long but they look to be constructed well, which I know is sometimes a problem area for north face shoes. I definitely recommend these.

Perfect

I've been out walking in these shoes all evening in 15 degree weather with snow. My feet stayed warm, dry and comfortable. Great traction as well. These shoes are amazing. I hope they are still in production if this pair ever gets worn out.

getting the job done!

Stoked on these shoes. I work as a valet at snowbird and am running in and out of the snow all night long. The traction is super bomber for running in the snow. They are also super warm due to the primaloft. I wear them with a pair of smart wool socks and my feet stay warm and dry all night long. Not to mention the ladies love them, aka super stylie!!
