Rugged durability to slay the parks.

The North Face designed its Men's Slasher Cargo Pant to take a beating while you slam, slide, fall, and bleed all over the terrain park. Its durable HyVent 2L and fully taped seams keep you dry when massive snow storms hit the mountain or when you're sitting at the top of the resort waiting for your buddies to finally make it off the chairlift. The lining combines taffeta with brushed tricot to slide over a baselayer with ease, and The North Face added a mesh lining for breathability while you drag yourself up the park for another beatdown.

The Slasher has a park fit to give plenty of room for mid-layers on frigid days. There are zippers at the inner-thighs with mesh gussets in case you get too hot. Ankle gaiters prevents snow from riding up your legs no matter how fast you slide down a kicker's landing ramp. Reinforced edge guards make sure you don't tear up the bottoms, adjustable waist tabs ensure you don't lose your knickers after face-planting off a curvy box, and the Lot Lift System lets you cinch up the cargo pockets to keep you looking slick when you don't have food stashed away.

  • HyVent 2L shell, fully taped seams
  • Taffeta, brushed tricot, mesh lining
  • Park fit
  • Zippered inner-thigh vents with mesh gussets
  • Gaiters with gripper elastic and boot clips
  • Reinforced edge guards
  • Adjustable waist tabs with belt loops

The linning instantly started pulling the hair on my legs. It might just be me but no way can I wear these.

not horrible, not great

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

These pants are okay, not a lot of insulation or pocket room. They run a little small for park fit. Wasn't too impressed.

Very pleased.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

This is my third pair of these pants and the quality is excellent.
They have added improved features and I am impressed with the fit and durability.
I ski 70-80 days a year.

If these pants are similar to the fargo cargo (a year or two back, which I assume they are) they will be a very good all around pant with great durability, warmth, and water-proofing. The Fargo was cryptic series but on paper the only big difference was the cargo pocket shape. The slasher is super easy to stash things in compared to the fargo. TNF pants seem to really be a solid choice for outerwear options.

Average Pants, don't expect too much

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Warm pants, but that doesn't really take much. First day I used these it was a bit wet and although water didn't totally seep through to my baselayers, the pants were a bit damp. You get what you pay for, and these are a good pant for the price - but I wish I had gotten something a bit more durable and waterproof.

relatively simple but fit to form pants for the snow

Solid Bottoms

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Pair these guys up with a pair of insulated bottoms for a base layer and you can take on whatever the mountain throws at you. Was recently up at Brighton and there was a high of 2 degrees. These pants kept out the wet and the cold. Reinforced cuffs help keep em from getting shredded and they come in a number of fresh colors

good but not great

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

i bought these pants brand new for this ski season. i have put 8 total days on them and already the cuffs are entirely cut up (i always roll them never step on them) and the hips are starting to wear through, like abrasions. i ride park so i am hard on pants especially but these have not held up nearly as long as most pants. usually it takes a full season for patns to get as beat up as these are already. on the bright side all the zippers work great and the pockets are really convenient. the water proofing is also really solid. the strings located inside the cargo pockets that when pulled roll up the cuffs are an awesome feature as well. over all they are not bad pants, but could be way more durable.

Awesome fit!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

The pants are baggy and have a really sick feel, but they are not true to the color at all, at least for the "majestic red". They are a bright pink or salmon color. Cool pants though.

Does the job.

They are solid for what they are, not top of of the line, but not crappy either. I'm happy with these pants. I like the baggy cargo feel. I would rather save money on pants & spend more money on other gear that is a little bit more important.
