Here's what others have to say...

One of the most comfortable sport sneaks

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Great style and great comfort.

Great shoe, but...

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

This is my 4th pair of North Face shoes but my first pair of Single Track II's. I love the style of these and the cushioning is great. They are a little on the wide side but I don't believe it's enough room to justify ordering a narrower size. I have been wearing these casually mostly until recently. However on only my 5th run in these shoes the sole of the shoe has split in front of the heel. I have to believe this is a manufacturing fluke as every other pair I have owned have been almost indestructible. I am returning and will get a replacement pair as I do believe this is an exception to the high quality I am used to with North Face. I will update when I have used my replacement pair.

Good Grip long life

I use it for 6 mounts of trail running on rock and hard trail. 3 times a week, 14km (9ml). They have a very good grip on dry land (never use them on wet). on steep down and up hills on rocks, hard trail and gravel. They have a good sock absorbers!
It's a good shoes!

These shoes work for me

I've worn North Face now for about four years. While I'm sure there might be better shoes out there, I have been happy with TNF. I recently ran a 50k and 50 mile race with the Single Track II with no issues. My only complaint would be the wear on the soles. Oh, and I'm not a big fan of the color choices currently but that is not really a big deal to me.
Fyi, I live in San Diego and normally run rocky, slick trails. These shoes work well in these conditions.

not for people who like light and simple

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The quality of this shoe seems to be pretty good, and I like the hard plastic plating to protect from rocks etc. However, the soles are pretty thick and bulky, the uppers are thick and interfere with the laces being tightened. It creates some spots where the laces cinch down painfully on my foot and others where the laces are too loose. They also fit narrow and have been rubbing blisters on the inside of my feet (could be just the way my feet are though). If you like light and fast I'd stay away from these, but if you like a lot of protection they may be right for you.

I get the same rubbing on the inside of my feet as you mention, but only on runs longer than about 2.5 hours. They may just run narrow. Even though I often run in a much lighter shoe, I have to say I like the firm, neutral fit and find them suitable for runs up to about 3.5 hours. These were the first North Face Shoes that won me over. My biggest complaint is the tread life is too short. Granted they last twice as long as the Hayasa which I consider to be essentially a throw away shoe after 100 miles.

trail runners

These shoes work great for me. I hate running but these shoes are more comfortable than any other shoe I've run in. I had the model prior to these and they feel about the same. I have the green an they are sick.
