Shawty Pant - Women's

The North Face selectively insulated the Women's Shawty Pant, striking the optimal balance between warmth and mobility. You get 60-gram Heatseeker insulation in the seat to prevent frozen-bum syndrome on cold chairlift rides, and in the knees for those times while you're hanging out on the slope waiting for your friends or, better yet, filming them as they attempt the slope you just shredded. And while the insulation works to keep you warm, the waterproof breathable HyVent shell keeps you dry as a bone.

  • Low-rise boot cut is trim and athletic around the articulated knees, flaring to a wider cuff
  • Chimney Venting system improves airflow through the pant: stretch mesh in the upper section of the leg gaiter allows cool, dry air to enter the pant and warm, moist air to exit through upper inseam vents
  • Adjustable waist tab dials in the fit
  • Gripper elastic on gaiter keeps powder out of pant, while StretchVent upper section moves with you in the bumps and park
  • Reinforced cuffs help protects your hems from damage

Bottom Line: A little insulation in the right places can go a long way.

every day

these pants are what I wear every day. Mesh vents in the inner thigh work great, chimney venting on the cuff help circulate air, they fit really comfortable and I love the cut. I get my yellow ones really dirty but have washed them several times and while the dirt still stays now when I wash them, I still wear them and they are still quite waterproof. Removable clip in the pocket works really good for lift tickets or my favorite, car keys! Just attach the little part of the clip to your key ring, and voila--guaranteed to never lose your keys in deep pow because you will just clip them on every time you lock the car. won't you?!

Hi, I was curious about the sizing. I'm 5'2.5", 110 lbs. Do you think these pants will be too long? Also, would you recommend the S or XS? Thanks in advance!

I ordered these in a medium and they fit fine. I'm 5'1 and weigh 125. I'm curvy and have thicker quads, so these gave me a little leg room. I never tried the small, but I imagine they would have been a little more snug.

Waist too big, thighs too small for this curvy chick

By:
January 14, 2011

I am so bummed to have to return these pants. I love the color, the quality feels excellent, pockets and other specs appear spot-on, but they are simply too snug in the thighs for snowboarding and then way too big in the waist. If you are curvy like me (39" hips, 27" waist with an apple-ish bottom), you will probably have the same trouble I run into frequently with pants in general - waist too big, rise too short, thighs tight. If, however, you have skinny/thin thighs and a straighter figure, these will probably be awesome for you.

Unfortunately I had the same experience - too tight in the thighs (40" hips). I'm bigger in the waist though and was able to adjust it tighter using the velcro.
