Zip up The North Face Women’s Scythe Fleece Jacket, and enjoy the high-loft warmth of Polartec Thermal Pro fleece, whether you’re camping at 12,000 feet or meeting the girls out for drinks at sea level. This technical jacket features a performance fit and stretchy side panels for full mobility in the backcountry, and the high warmth-to-weight ratio makes the Scythe ideal for travel or just-in-case situations. Wear it over a T-shirt on cool fall nights or under your shell jacket when you head to the mountains. This fleece packs up in a small ball and fluffs back out in a snap, so you can take it wherever you like.
Bottom Line: Like a high-performance, wearable shag carpet.
I bought this jacket to my girlfriend. It fits very good and looks really nice. The stretchy sidepanels allows a comfortable mooving, but means also loose of warmth. It is a nice technical jacket but, if you are looking for something warm, you need to find some other model. It´s not The North Face´s warmiest fleece jacket. I highly recommend this jacket.
This looks very comfortable & like this jacket i am looking to buy however i'm fairly tall and don't know what size to get I don't want it to be too fitted but i don't want it to be baggy
I love this jacket because it is so soft, and more fitted. It is my favorite North Face, and I always get complements on it. I have had mine for over a year, and even after washing it looks great. It is warm enough to wear in cold weather, yet breathable enough that when you come indoors you can continue to wear it without overheating. It is not windproof, but I can get by wearing it in 30 degree weather and still be comfortable. It is ideal for fall weather (I live in Wisconsin.)
This jacket is on the shorter side, so if you want a longer torso fit, I would get a bigger size, or a different jacket.

can someone tell me how to wash so it doesnt look matted? i just purchased a white one and it needs a bath. my daughter has had one for a yr and it looks matted due to all the washing? thanks
I have three of these jackets now and let me tell you...soon it will be four. They are true to size, easy to care for and probably the most comfortable item in my closet. I wear them all the time. I always receive compliments on them too. They are soooo cozy. I highly recommend this jacket!
Dont get this because you want to be warm. Get this if you are looking for something to wear inside in the winter. Coming from Chicago, I need something that is light and warm. This is not like the denali, at all. Closer to wearing a fleece blanket. The jacket is lined with mesh, so be careful where you put your keys in the pockets. I was always worried they would puncture a hole in the pocket. I have to say I was disappointed in this jacket. Returning it. It is only the beginning of November and I am freezing! It is cheaper than the denali, but you won't get the windproof option on this one. Mountain hardware offers a nice windproof fuzzy fleece if you need one. Sorry north face, you let me down on this one!
Hi - They are not the same fleece - the Osito is a proprietary North Face fleece, where the Scythe is a Polartec fleece. The Scythe also has Power Stretch panels on the sides that give it more of a performance fit and feel. They are both super soft. Hope this helps
This is my absolute favorite thing that I own. It is perfect for casual wear or outside in the chillier michigan weather. It is a must have if you like a comfy, practical yet fitted and feminime. Love It!
Love this jacket....the nf osito was way too big for me short in the arms and wide in the torso...i am 5'3 and about 110 and this jacket fits me to a T.
not sure if this is the exact jacket i have, mine is super soft inside and out. not your regular fleece. anyways are these machine washable???? i looked for the care tag and couldnt find one. probably on purchase tag which is long gone.... the po#4500724047 if that helps
After reading other reviews referring to size I ordered a small - what I would normally order. The small was so small I didn't even try it on. I returned it and ordered a medium. I really wanted it to fit like a jacket, and ended up returning the medium and ordering a large. After all of that ordering and returning I have a jacket I love.
This jacket rocks, my wife loves it so much she wears everywhere, yesterday in the Japanese Minami Alps, she never complained about the cold or wind, it works great with waterproof TNF shell...
I have this jacket in winter white/gray with a little bit of red trim and on the zippers etc. which is kind of hard to see in the pics. Describe it as slim fitting with long sleeves - mid length about to the hips. Fleece is great - sort of short shag instead of the tight, woolen type fleece.
I am 5'9" and had a denali fleece in a medium. I rarely wore it because it just seemed too short all over and in the arms especially. I ordered this and I have been very pleased. I have gotten several compliments on it already. It is warm and lightweight. It is also a bit more shapely than the denali due to the panels on the side. Overall, I would highly recommend this fleece. I ordered it in white.
One of the reasons I bought this jacket was the review that mentioned it had long arms - I actually prefer that so they don't ride up if I lift my arms up over my head. However, I'm not sure why the arms are so long and the torso is relatively short in comparison. It's not that long - and does ride up a little when you lift up your arms. But, i DO like the fit - very sculpted, not boxy, so the short length does not seem to matter as much. I do love the extra furry fleece - it's very thick but not shaggy like the monkey fur type fleece. The eco-green is a great color too. One thing you can't see in the pics is the gray powerstretch panel that goes from waist to underarm all the way down to the wrist. It looks okay though in real life.
The material is nice and soft, and the styling excellent. But the sleeves are much too long. I look like a gorilla. Buy this if you have long arms or if you like to have the sleeves cover your hands during cold days.
I love this jacket, I also have a Denali, and a Apex Summit and this makes me ready for any type of weather. When the Denali is too heavy, this one is just perfect. Light weight yet snuggly warm!
This is a great little jacket. It's warm, soft, and light weight. Great to wear under your snow jacket shell or any coat for that matter. I absolutely love how long the sleeves are. I'm 5'5" 115lbs and the xs fits great. The performance fit is nice and stretchy, moving with your body. Only complaint is that it's a little short.
I want one of the north face's. But the other day when i looked on here there was a blue one. Now it says out of stock and its white. Some please help?
I bought this jacket to my girlfriend. It fits very good and looks really nice. The stretchy sidepanels allows a comfortable mooving, but means also loose more...
I love this jacket because it is so soft, and more fitted. It is my favorite North Face, and I always get complements on it. I have had mine for over more...
