The North Face Salathe Fleece Jacket offers insulation without bulk using Polartec 100 fleece. It is soft, compressible, and durable—ideal for summer backpacking and hiking. The fabric dries quickly, launders well, resists pilling, and is treated with an anti-microbial finish. The Salathe Fleece's flat-locked seams eliminate bulk, prevent chafing, and improve comfort when layering. The Salathe zips into compatible shells from The North Face for complete protection against the weather. *Please note: Tends to run a size larger than you might normally wear. Please consult the sizing chart.
Bottom Line: When you head out in cold weather, you'll always pick The North Face Salathe Fleece Jacket.
I LOVE this fleece. Its soooo comfortable and not ridiculously warm so you can easily wear it in cooler spring weather. I think it was definitely worth the cost and I absoloutely love it and take every chance I get to wear it! Plus Ive gotten so many compliments on it.
I bought this jacket for my girlfriend a few weeks ago. This was her first northface coat, so I wasnt sure what she would like. She gets really cold all the time since she is pretty tiny, so I needed something warm, but lightweight. This was the perfect choice. First, the jacket blocks pretty much all wind, so she never gets cold. Second, its light enough to wear under a shell, but still heavy enough to wear on its own. But, make sure to order a size smaller since it runs a size too big.

This jacket is perfect, except I had to send mine back to get a smaller size. I am usually a Medium and need a Small. I am looking forward to wearing it this fall! North Face is such a quality product!
Bought this sweater for my daughter. She is a size 8 and bought a M. It feel comfortably. Not too tight and not too baggy.
Be aware that the sweater that I got was in all black. The black jacket in the picture above shows that the inside is gray however the one I received was black all over including the inside.
What size should I order this one ? I heard from one of the review that it runs bigger than normal size. I usually wear a L in all my Northface jackets.
I'm 5'5", 125 pounds and 34D. I could fit into the Small but I went with the Medium in this jacket just because I think it's more flattering. With that said, it's actually not altogether that flattering to begin with so I was a bit disappointed. It's a pretty boxy jacket. But I've kept it since it does the job of keeping me warm in my freezing, air-conditioned office. And it's a good summer-evening or between-seasons jacket. The black is more like a faded gray which I don't love but I guess that's what you get with this kind of fleece material. With all these caveats, I will say that it's a good quality north face jacket and I'm sure will be in my arsenal of gear for a while to come.

I recieved the womens North Face Salathe jacket, and I cannot describe how wonderful the service and product was. I needed to exchange the first size I got, and they were quick and friendly, I got it within the next 3 days, and they sent me confirmation of recieving my package. I would highly recommend buying from Backcountry, and I know I will definately do it again!!!
It is 100 weight - it is pretty lightweight. Not as light as a micro-fleece baselayer, but 100 weight is about as light as you can find in a fleece jacket. Hope this helps
3rd northface ive orderd as they run small. this one runs big. i wear a 16-18 and this is roomy and longer than any of tried. great! love it for everyday use. need something warmer if im going to be outside long. fast shipping also!
This North Face fleece does the job. True, it's not a technical piece and it isn't terribly beautiful. And no, it's not an Arcteryx fleece. However, it's great for wearing around town, to work or for hanging out at the crag, an afternoon hike, etc. You pretty much get what you would expect with this fleece: warmth and ability to wear it often..
I love this jacket. I received it a few weeks ago and I can't wait for colder weather to come my way. It fits beautifully - I love the shaped cut for a woman's body. Super warm, not too bulky and perfect for layering
I returned this fleece jacket because it was boring in color and design. It also lacked the fleece substance I like in fleece jackets...it was too floppy. Runs roomy, which is a plus that North Face products have in my mind!
I bought this just last mouth and it's really warm. I use it as a zip-in jacket with a North Face outer jacket and it has been keeping me warm through some snow storms in the last month.
Love this jacket! I bought it about a month ago and I have pretty much worn it everyday since... bought a small and I'm usually a medium, I probably could have gone with a medium but the small fits pretty well too.
Fits like a box and is over sized. Didn't even have mine for a year before it started to wear out. You are better off saving your money and buying something from Mountain Hardwear or Arc'teryx.
I LOVE this fleece. Its soooo comfortable and not ridiculously warm so you can easily wear it in cooler spring weather. I think it was definitely worth more...
I bought this jacket for my girlfriend a few weeks ago. This was her first northface coat, so I wasnt sure what she would like. She gets really cold all more...
