The North Face Women's Rogue Insulated Jacket is a cleaver cross between a resort-lifestyle piece and a technical weather-resistant ski/snowboard jacket. Front and sleeve tabs and mod seam designs lend an urban look to the Rogue Jacket, while fully taped seams and HydroVent 2L fabric block moisture. The North Face also armed this jacket with 100 grams of synthetic insulation in the body and 80 grams in the sleeves (so you maintain warmth and mobility). Magnet closures eliminate the hateful stuck-on-everything hook-and-loop devises, and a snap-back pow skirt works on the slopes and stays out of the way downtown.
Bottom Line: Fashion and dry, warm comfort on the slopes.

This jacket looks really cute on and it is comfy. It is pretty light weight but still warm which is nice. I got a small and I'm about 5' 6" and a little less that 120lbs so there was some extra room in the jacket which is great for layering but on the days I don't need layers it is quite roomy. A feature that I was not aware of prior to receiving the jacket was the hand warming sleeves (I don't really know what to call them). The sleeves have a little slit in them for your thumbs to go through so your hands can stay sort of warm while doing things with your fingers. The lining looks gray to me in the picture for the black jacket but it is actually a pretty blue. The jacket is fitted but not as fitted as the picture shows. I ordered the green version also to see which color I would like better and the green jacket was the color of a green crayon which was not what I thought it would be. The hood snaps and zips off easily and the jacket looks good without it.

I both this as a gift for my wife and she loves it nothing bad to say for now only good comments from her part good quality jacket
Today it's December 1st, the rain is coming down pretty hard, but there is no snow on the ground. Temperatures are around 35 degrees. I've just purchased a brand new ($375+tax) Northern Face Saber Jacket with a "removable, insulated hood", however they didn't say what the insulation was in the hood, but I tell you, it's not much. The body and the sleeves contain "HEATSEEKER" insulation, but something is wrong! What is this Heatseeker, a missile, or a POOR insulation made of cheap polyester? I don't get sick very easily, but after I've been outside for an hour in the rain and cold and dark, as soon as I got inside I started sneezing, and felt like I was freezing. I don't know what fabric this "HEATSEEKER" is made of, but whatever it is, it is little or no THERMAL protection! The insulation it provides is better than that of one layer of thick leather, but not much better! On the positive side, thanks to my jacket, which functioned as an expensive raincoat, the rain didn't get any of my upper body wet! Also on the positive side, this jacket is a bit of fashion statement, especially with the hood on! Also, on the positive side, the manufacturer must have worked on this jacket for at least an hour per jacket! However, thanks to the HEATSEEKER insulation -- did the manufacturer try to save money on insulation, and bought some unknown insulation cheaply? -- maybe I should wait 3-4 months, then remove the hood, and wear the jacket in the spring or the summer, when it'll be a bit warmer! -- I hope this helps.

This jacket is built with HyVent waterproof breathable fabric and is fully seam sealed. So yes it is waterproof.
