Rockeller Pant - Men's

Despite the impressive mane of hair that covers your bottom half, you still need a fully seam taped, waterproof breathable outer layer like The North Face Rockeller Pant to keep out the cold and snow. Your short hairs get some help during the coldest days in January with a layer of Thinsulate insulation under the HyVent shell fabric, which keeps melting snow from wetting your britches. The fabric also breathes to keep you comfortable when the temps rise and the sun shines, while the Chimney Venting system channels a river of fresh air through StretchVent gaiters all the way up your legs, expelling the dingy air out thigh vents.

  • Articulated knees and stretch panel lining match your agro stance and won’t rip when you backslap off a thirty-footer
  • Zips into other compatible jackets’ powder skirts (sold separately), creating a snow barrier like a one-piece
  • Pant-a-lock system attaches to your ski jacket to keep out snow
  • Zip-cuff gussets make boot transitions quick in slick, muddy parking lots
  • Grippy elastic gaiters include boot hooks to secure your pant legs while you plow them through the snow
  • Reinforced ankles prevent holes and rips from your ski or board’s edges
  • RECCO avalanche rescue reflector adds a touch of confidence in case the worst of the worst happens while at the resort

Bottom Line: Equipped with insulation and ventilation to get you through the whole season.

Just wondering how The North Face pant-a-lock system works?

Just wondering how The North Face pant-a-lock system works? Zipper? Snaps? Velcro? Does it only work with TNF jackets?

So I can now answer my own question for anyone else with the same query. The pant-a-lock system uses snaps on the base of the powder-skirt to clip onto the belt loops of your ski pants. It works with most TNF pants, but also some other pants, and can also be clipped onto a belt. The Zip-In feature is different, as the back of the jacket zips to the back of the pants.

Great Pants

By:

I've been using these pants as my go to for this season. They are insulated, but keep a nice slim fit that will keep you from looking like the Michelan Man, or even worse, a teen park and piper. I've skied in -25C/-13F with just these and a pair of thermal long underwear underneath, I was warm on the lift and never overheated on the ski down. The gaiters hold onto boots well, I've skied all day in a foot of fresh powder and snow didn't get in my pants or boots. There are no side zips so they wouldn't be great backcountry pants, but that's not their intent. I've skied in -5C/23F with just light long johns on for comfort and they were great as well.
I'm 6'1" with a 32" waist and the medium fits perfectly around the waist (tabs to adjust) and the inseam.

Awesome Ski Pant

By: Backcountry.com Employee

Just got these for skiing and they are outstanding! The fit is really good and there's no loss of mobility from the added insulation. The pocketing is well thought out. The length is perfect for me (6'1" and I bought the large). Just moved to Utah from Oregon and the added insulation is nice for these 15 to 25 degree days.
