How can you go wrong.It's like you have 2 jackets
for the price of one.I wear this jacket for main
part of winter when it gets colder.The silver is
a little disco.But who cares you are warm, and are
in the mountains.

Hi Pwang - the Mercurial probably isn't the best choice for those type of temperatures without any layers. I would look at some down jackets for that job. Here are a couple of suggestions:
-North Face Prism Optimus
-North Face Elysium Jacket
-North Face Nuptse Jacket
-North Face Himalayan Parka (warmest jacket made by The North Face)

This is a very nice jacket. It is really two jackets in one. It is packable and very stylish.

I have the TNF Plasma and TNF Thunder, and this Mercurial jacket is warmer. Of course you have to cover your head on a very cold day. I think this jacket is a little bit over priced. Nevertheless, I like wearing it better than plasma and thunder. It looks a little formal than the other two. Not sure about the mercurial side yet. Its too bright for me.

Good jacket to pull out of your pack when the temperature gets really cold on ski tours in the winter....I wish they made this jacket with a (hood) version. For variable temperatures the reversible idea is great...When it gets warmer silver side up...Would give this jacket a four or five if it had a hood....

I purchased this jacket from Ellis Bigham- UK, last winter. After wearing the jackt casually on approx. twenty occasions i noticed a flaw in the shell fabric. I returned the jacket to Ellis Bigham who forwarded it to North Face for inspection. Both companies refused to honour the NF two year warranty.
The shell fabric on this jacket is extremely light and in my opinion not fit for purpose which is full on mountain use.
POOR QUALITY!!!

I dressed this jacket less than one month. But the jacket is extremely discolor on the silver layer. I am very disappointted of this jacket!!!!!!!

This coat is the bomb!!!!!!!
I got it and the box weighed 2 Lbs. and I was worried that it was empty. But the coat was in there, and feather light. I was VERY sceptical and immediately wanted to send it back, but I went out in the snow and cold (Michigan 7 degree weather) and was shocked how warm it was. I had a tee and medium sweater on underneath and I was toasty warm. It felt like I was just wearing the sweater, it was so light. A few days it became too hot to wear, thought the weather was still cold (38 degrees).
I highly recommend this coat
