He won't admit it, but this warm, reversible puffy jacket replaces his old security blanket. The North Face gave the Reversible Down Moondoggy Jacket a clean design that reverses to a plaid body so he can change up his style and have the same great comfort every day. If he forgets his gloves, he can stick his hands in the handwarmer pockets while elastic cuffs and an elastic-bound waistband keep the elements out.

I just ordered the Moondoggy is a size large for my 11 year old son who normally wears a 12/14. I went by the size chart as well as a recommendation from the gear experts on Backcountry. Be warned...this jacket runs very small. It did not fit my 11 year old, so I gave it to my 8 year old, and it just fits him! He normally wears an 8/10. Go up one size, if not two. You'll be glad you did.

My son loves this jacket, it is very comfortable and keeps him warm. And since it is reversible it's like having 2 jackets for the price of 1.
No, this hood is not removable.

My grandson has made me promise to buy him a larger size so he can have the exact same jacket for next year. Need I say more? The only problem with this jacket is he seems to catch the pocket zipper in the welt. frequently. This is annoying for me

It would have been great if the sizing chart had been accurate. We bought it for our tall nine year old in the biggest size available, unfortunately, we had to let this one go and opt for men's sizes.
