The North Face designed the Women's Redpoint Jacket with a slim fit, so you can layer this insulated jacket under a weatherproof shell on your extended backcountry tours. The Redpoint Jacket's PrimaLoft insulation provides moisture-resistant warmth, and this jacket stuffs into the left hand pocket for easy packing. When you've made it back to civilization, pull on the Redpoint Jacket and head to the store to restock your frig.
Bottom Line: You could try a bunch of inferior jackets, or you could zip into The North Face Redpoint Jacket and get winter warmth on your first try.
I've had this jacket for almost five years now and its still keeping me warm. If I'm going climbing and it looks like it might be cold, windy, or a little wet, this jacket is always in my pack. I've used it skiing, climbing, backpacking, commuting on my bike, for walks with the dog, etc. The fit is true to size and layers easily under my shell jackets.
I had purchased this jacket in Seattle but the size was too small. I couldn't find another one anywhere around here or online. I was so happy to locate it online at this site and on sale! This jacket is so versatile. It fits over my The North Face Windpro on especially cold days and is also great just over a light shirt. It is nice and warm but not when you get inside the grocery stores or shopping malls where you can feel overheated with some jackets. All around comfort! Love the Brown color. Isn't brown becoming the "New Black"? So some say!
I ordered the North Face Redpoint jacket for my daughter. I saw it in a store first. The lining color of the jacket in white in the Back Country catalog is grey; the lining was tan in the store. I called Back Country to ascertain what color the lining would be if I ordered it, and was told that the tan was last year's color and the lining of one I ordered in white would be grey. I ordered it, and the jacket came with a tan lining. So, if you order this jacket in white, and maybe in the other colors, the lining may not be the color you expect and the help desk my not know what it is before you order. On the positive side, the jacket has a nice, tapered fit, which is flattering. It is a light-medium weight jacket. Other than the lining color not being correct, which in my case does matter, it is a fine jacket. I have ordered from you before and had good service, so I anticipate no problem returning it.

Bought this jacket in May, thinking I wouldn't use it until the fall... wrong, chilly July nights (10 deg.C) the jacket is perfect, light weight but warm, fits well under a hard shell, sizing was true to fit.
I have the men's Redpoint, and got the women's for both my girlfriend and sister this past Xmas. It went over very well - with very high praise for the fleece-y pockets. Note, the men's version doesn't have fleece-y pockets! It has slightly more stylish lines/patterns than the men's version too.. but maintains the great compactness, insulation and water repellency its known for. The Redpoint is a terrific value - I wear mine in all but the coldest weather - at which time I zip it into a TNF shell and am ready for ANY weather.
Very nice jacket and quite warm! It is not as "slim fitting" or "figure fitting" as others have said or as the image leads you to believe however I am fairly petit (5'4 108lbs) so that may be part of it. Otherwise, it is a great buy.
Great Jacket! Works very well on it's own during spring / fall temperatures and works awesome as a layering tool when it gets really cold. It fits very well. My only complaint is the collar. There's isn't enough room for a scarf but it has a wide opening even when zipped so wind and drafts get down in it.
I bought my mom one of these and she loves it, She was wearing my dad's red point and needed her own. has held up great and fits under her ski jacket well.
