I've owned a number of insulated vests in the past, but this is my absolute favorite. Perfect for early spring or late fall days in New England with only a light layer underneath. Can also get away with wearing it with a softshell underneath for most of the winter. Very nice fit. Not overly bulky. My favorite part is the stow pocket. Packs up nice and small and works great as a pillow on overnight/multi-day hikes without taking up a bunch of room in your pack.
Does this vest run big or true to size? I'm 5'8"

I'm 5'6" and 145lbs. Went with the small and it is an excellent fit.

Does this vest "breath" well? I read one review on an earlier year's Redpoint vest that stated it didn't breath well at all. Was this accurate?

It has a ripstop nylon shell with Primaloft Eco in the middle. Different types of nylon breathe in different amounts, but they'll not breathe nearly as well as even wind pro fleece. This isn't really meant to be a jacket in which you do a lot of intense activity in. Not going to be super breathable.

I was very excited to receive this product, it shipped in a reasonable amount of time. It is very warm and comfy, I enjoy wearing it. No problems with the zippers but some of the fabric has started to fray slightly along the zipper. I think this is from the friction of zipping up/down. Last thing I will say is that I got an XL and it's a little big on me. For those looking to use this as a "layer" consider going with a smaller size.
