This is a review for the grey and white color. I've been looking for this for a while and I'm so happy I stumbled upon Back Country! Not only did I save money, I received it in less than a week! So A+++ for the company so far :)

Onto the backpack, I immediately compared it to my unisex Recon backpack. They look the same but the women's version is a tad smaller. As far as I can tell, the straps are different but for the most part, it fits great on my back! I never ran into any problems with my unisex recon bag but since I am moving onto graduate school, I wanted a new backpack. This is perfect I think. Great size, carries a lot (I stuffed a few books, a 13 in Macbook Pro, water bottle, daily things I usually bring with me, etc). and it all fit comfortably and felt fine on my back. I do not think this is water proof (don't quote me on this). Since I'll be going somewhere kind of rainy and wet (Hello Seattle!), I might try to waterproof it somehow.

All in all, great product and great company so far! You've got a customer for life now!

Great For School

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

I gave this as a gift, but have some feedback from the receiver.

They loved how organizational it is, has a pocket for anything need for school to a day hike. The straps are comfy and plush and they liked how they fit them better than most other packs did. They would recommend this to any one looking for a solid school pack that can double as a day pack for hikes.

In one word: kickass. Multiple organizational compartments and features, extremely high quality fabrics and assembly, and wonderful aesthetic appeal come together to make a pack that is functional, durable, and beautiful.

Awesome backpack!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The white/grey backpack has a really nice color to it. It does have a laptop sleeve with a padded area at the bottom. I put my Mac 13 inch in, water bottle, spirals, and a ton of other little things and I can't feel the weight on my back. Great quality. There are tons of pockets and they are deep, so you can fit more stuff in there. The bottom straps do have a pocket to tuck them in when not in use. I am so happy I ordered this backpack :)

Perfect for travel

Bought this bag for my wife to travel with. It fits everything she needs, laptop, tablet, books, clothes. This and her carry on save us from having to pay those extra baggage fees at the airport!

Is this approved by the Amer Chiro Assc?...

Is this approved by the Amer Chiro Assc? The original recon is. Other than a few cu in less in volume what is the difference? The arrangements in the pockets? The way it holds a laptop?

Great pack!!

I love this backpack! It holds my laptop 2 large textbooks, and a 3 ring binder. I ordered the vaporous grey heather, and the color is perfect.

The pink backpacks actual color is nothing like it in the pictue...

Responded on

I certainly understand the color issue, as I received a North Face jacket that was off color of what is pictured. Unfortunately it is the stock photo provided by NF to retailers. Backcountry is really good about returns, and the photos are exactly what is pictured at the North Face site. I have contacted NF about this issue. Keep in mind, monitors show images in RGB and not CMYK like in printing. Shopping online is like a "roll of the dice".

TEABERRY PINK - color advertised is not color received

Backcountry is great, however, the color of the product advertised was not. We ordered what appeared to be a bright pink color and ended up with more of a grey pink. The image on the computer is very deceiving, please update the image.

but how is the backpack besides the color?

Responded on

Go for the unisex bag. I bought both for comparison unless I got a different year on the unisex bag to had padding in the hip wings the women's didn't. I called TNF they said the ladies bag is 1 L smaller straps are shorter and curved for our bodies if you are over 5ft go for the unisex bag. I used it anyway at 5ft as a carryon and it was far more comfortable than any travel bag/purse. Makes overseas flights easier for what I need in the airport. Ladies bag would have been fine, but I wanted the padding fits iPad great cant speak to laptops.

Sounded confusing unisex bag has padding in hip wings womens bag does not.
