Weird color and runs small

  • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
  • Fit:Runs small
  • Height: 5'6"
    Weight: 125 lbs
    Size Purchased: Medium

I bought this fleece for my son. He has another North Face jacket that fits great so I ordered the same size. It's too small plus it's not red, more like an orange color. To top it off I have to pay to ship it back. I will be buying a North Face fleece but I won't be using Backcountry again.

Just because you have a problem with what you purchased doesn't mean you need to be upset with the people you got it from. Backcountry is fantastic to work with but you have to take some responsibility.

Very nice except two things

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:True to size

Pros: Very light and comfy for a 300 weight fleece. I was hoping this would become my go to fleece on a cold (but not rainy) day and I'm happy to say it has.

Cons: The "black" version is not Black. It is dark grey. At first this made me fairly mad but when I changed my mindset to being fine with a dark grey fleece...i was cool. It's actually really nice looking. The wrist bands are not closed on the wrist. They are wide open which does allow cold air to flow up the arms. Imagine the sleeve just going straight down with zero taper. The picture fooled me bc it looks like they are tight but they are not. A definite design flaw in my opinion. This flaw seems to be hit or miss with NF jackets as I saw another review for a slightly more expensive fleece where the same complaint was made. On the other hand the NF Denali that I have does not have this issue as it uses the elastic band on the wrists wisely and is snug enough around the wrists. Please note that this only bothered me at first and I've already gotton over it. I do like this jacket.
