It's pretty staggering to think of our landfills and the amount of waste people produce each day. You might not think The North Face Women's Pumori Jacket has anything to do with the recycle movement, but it does. The North Face used recycled Polartec Classic material in the Pumori to make sure you and your eco-conscience stay warm this fall and winter.
Bottom Line: Keeping material out of the landfills one fleece at a time.
This jacket has wrong size. I got a xs black and it is too big for me. According the size chart for North Face (for the same jacket) the xs around chest should be 31-32" and this one is 39-40".

With these type of jackets, I usually buy based on chest size and if I intend to layer underneath or not. If you are on the edge of a chest size bracket, I find that it's usually best to get the next one up. This makes sure you have enough room to breath, and to wear a base layer or two under it.

I'm not sure what you mean by "better" - but in my experience the Khumbu is a little warmer and thicker than the Pumori, although the Pumori is noticeably softer and a bit lighter. I like the styling and the fit of the Pumori except it has a wider neck than my Khumbu jacket. Also it's sooo soft, I just want to nuzzle myself - although I do like the fleece cuffs on the Khumbu.
Basically I find them interchangeable except for the minor styling details and colors. If you still can't decide, Backcountry has a pretty good return policy so you could get both and return the one you don't want. :)
My daughter thought she wanted the Denali jacket until she tried it on. She is a little larger sized girl and that jacket was a little too trim in the cut for her. She found the Pumori and it was a more generous cut and it fit her much better all over - even the sleeves were a little wider and fit her better. She was really happy with it and has enjoyed it a lot.
Just purchased the green pumori fleece jacket noticed a white lining around the bottom inside..Our these jackets authenic//My black one has material around bottom??
They are 100% authentic but there will sometimes be differences in manufacturing as they are made during different runs and often in different factories.
I use this jacket ALL the time. It is great for layering and has some great little hidden pockets on the inside. Zips up high to keep my neck warm, which is a big plus for me. I had to deduct one star though, because the fleece began to pile pretty quickly after I got it.
I just bought a men & women's North Face Denali jackets for myself & my fiance & they are authentic. As a matter a fact I looked @ about 5-6 other sites to try & find the lowest price & backcountry.com was the lowest & offers no shipping cost on orders over $50. I'm so happy with my purchase. I'll be back!!
I really like this jacket, I have it in the bright red color, size S. I am a big fan of North Face, although the khumbu jacket is my favorite. It is warmer and a little stiffer than the pumori, with a better price. If you want a lighter, softer fleece, the pumori is a good bet.

My 24 year old daughter absolutely loves this jacket and wears it constantly! She wears it as soon as she gets up in the morning, using it like a robe - even in the summer!! She loves this jacket so much that she now owns it in at least a half dozen colors, and after owning the black one for a few years now, it could afford to be replaced since she wears that one the most. She wears these Pumori jackets year round, first thing in the morning and often in the evenings. In the winter, she loves layering them wearing it under her numerous North Face Aconcagua vests! I have bought all of her Pumori jackets through Back Counry, as well as all of her North Face vests. Highly recommend this company!!!
i bought two of these fleece jackets. my sister had the ivory and I had the black. My sister and i agree it's warm but she said her shed all over her pants. I didn't seem to experience the same problem. not sure if it's the color.
My daughter asked for this for Christmas..she hasn't take it off yet (except to sleep) She says its very warm and comfortable. I bought a bigger size to accomodate layers.
I bought the red fleece and was extremely disappointed. It created giant fuzz balls all over the jacket and also left them behind everywhere I went. I have a black fleece from a few years back that I loved...Maybe it's the recycled materials that North Face is now using???
I love this fleece in the purple. Dont be fooled by the picture though, its not that dark of a purple, closer to a plum. Those complaining of fuzz balls... its a fleece!! The fuzz is what makes it comfy. Always love the north face fleeces!
This fleece is extremely comfortable and soft. I love wearing it (I got the SMALL, white one). The arms are slightly longer than expected. I'm 5'2 97lbs. I guess I should've gotten the XS. I can layer underneath pretty well, very roomy. It still looks great on the figure so XS-SMALL is fine for my petite frame. The wind chill goes right through as expected so no wind resistant whatsoever. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for a soft, good looking, comfortable fleece.
My 16 year old daughter loves the jacket/color (pink). She says that she has never seen the color before on anyone and that it keeps her warm. She also says that she has gotten alot of compliments. However, a friend of mine that purchases clothes for a small clothing store questioned whether or not the jacket was authentic. I have no way of knowing for sure but I sure hope that what I paid for (an authentic North face jacket) is what I received.
Backcountry is one of the more reputable dealers on the web - and only sells authentic brand items, North Face included. Their return policy is stellar, so if you are unhappy with anything for any reason, they will gladly refund your purchase price. Polite and knowledgable customer service as well.
This jacket is perfect for spring and fall in Michigan. Warm and cute. A little disappointment is that the color is not exactly denim blue, it is more toward teal, I should say. Still I love this cute little jacket!
I ordered the Pumori in Retro Pink. DO NOT BUY THIS COLOR! YUCK!!! I wore it briefly to Target to go shopping. Much to my surprise, the color is EXACTLY the same color as the reddish pink in the Target store, especially in their carts. I was afraid someone was going to ask where the laundry detergent was...
I ordered this jacket and got it yesterday in the mail. I was so excited to get it because i have been wanting a North Face for a long time. I like the way it fits and all. But I do not think it is as warm as people say it is and the material reminds me of a blanket that is on a hotel bed. I was going to exchange it until my daughter cut the tag off.
Its zip-in compatible to other TNF products and generally other things that have they same "type" of zippers -- XXY or whatever. Its definitely slimmer fit than the denali.
Several years ago I bought a Forecaster of Boston fleece jacket, lined, hooded, light weight. It is the best and warmest walking jacket I have ever owned. I cannot find anything like it. I believe the company went out of business. Any suggestions?
I had bought this for my daughter for Christmas but I was sooo proud of her hard work & dedication to her Volleyball team, I had to give it to her waaaayyyy early! That jacket was such a good choice because she just loved it! Perfect color to go with anything she wears & a perfect fit....Sizes are true to size {which made me very happy w/o the returns to get the right size}. Thanx BC for a homerun!
Wow amazing, this jacket is really nice quality, but warning to you all it is cut HUGE!!!!! I mean it. Especially in the arms. I ordered it for my daughter who is a petite 13 year old in an xs. It was enourmous, so big in fact, that I could fit into it no problem and I usually wear L/XL depending on the cut. NO JOKE. I am 100% telling the truth
I ordered the Pumori because I really liked the Knight Purple color. There was only 1 size in stock (XS) when I ordered it, and I'm usually a S, but some of the reviews implied that this fleece runs large, so I gave it a shot. I received it yesterday and the shade of purple is exactly what I had wanted. The size is also perfect on me - the arms are the perfect length (long enough for my long arms) and the shoulders fit well. It is slightly snug on my hips (I don't have large hips - they're average) but I wouldn't say it's tight. All in all - great fit, and I'm excited to have a nice soft fuzzy fleece in my collection for this coming fall and winter. I am not expecting wind proofing or anything (I know better - I have a Denali) so I expect it won't help when it's REALLY cold, but I think it'll be the perfect fleece for spring and fall in CA when it's a little more chilly.
I have not washed or worn this yet so I can't attest to its durability.
This is not a performance fleece - it's more of a fashion fleece. As long as you're aware of that when you purchase it, you'll be pleased. And if you're between sizes, size down. Even if you're not, you should consider it. I wear a S in Patagonia fleeces (I have 2 and S fits well in both) for sizing reference. A S Denali is large/boxy on me.
I was very disappointed in this jacket after I wore it skiing. I will be returning it and getting something from a different brand.
Pro: nice trim flattering fit - fit well under my shell which is more form fitting. Not as loose and baggy.
Con: shed fibers all over my shell, base layer and even my kid's clothes when I was holding him. I'm not talking about a little bit of fiber. It was a lot and all over. It even accumulated in my hair.
Holes? When I stretched/pulled on the fabric little, I could see holes. I've never seen this in my other fleece. Not sure what's going on with that.
Warmth suspect? It kept me warm with a shell, but the wind cut RIGHT thru it shen I wore it alone. Yes, I know that it's not supposed the be windproof. It felt like I wasn't wearing ANY jacket at all. No protection/wind resistance at all. Maybe it has to do with the holes.
Absolutely returning this. Expected better from North Face.
Sizing: 5'2" and 110#. The XS was good. Sleeves a tad longer than I would like.
Bought 2 of these for 2 teenagers. They love their jackets and wear them all the time. On the otherhand am disappointed in the quality of the jackets for the price. They have been washed one time, inside out, following washing directions to the 't', no dryer, softner, etc. Both look like they shrunk and fleece of jacket fronts look very worn like they've had jackets for years. Way overpriced for quality!
I love my jacket. It is just right when outside or inside. It is super soft and washes great. I have purchased 6 so far in all colors. I would love it if they made a navy in the Pumori.
The fleece itself was extremely soft and I loved it. The cut looked attractive and feminine, but I ran into a sizing problem. I would have to say these run big. I haven't bought any other jackets from north face so I don't know if this is a brand thing, but I ordered a small and it was way to big. I'm 5'8, 140, by no means the smallest or most petite girl in the world. But, even with a hoodie on underneath the small it still had lots of room to spare and looked really bulky. I wanted this piece as a layer for cold-weather backpacking, and even so it was way too bulky. I'd feel like a stuffed animal wearing it under a shell. The sleeve were the right length, and it hit me at the right part of the hip; it was just much too wide. So, I swapped it out for an XS and its much better. Just a warning, I'd go a size down what you usually wear.
I bought this jacket for my fiancee since she did not own a decent casual jacket. And that is just what this jacket is; a decent casual jacket. It's nothing special. It's over priced, but if you can get it on sale, it's worth it. The fleece is uber soft, but don't expect it to block any type of wind.
BTW, my fiancee is 5'2" and 115 lbs, and the XS fits her perfectly.
I took a lot of time purchasing the North Face fleece, considering money and quality. I was not at all disappointed with my decision! It is a warm, comfortable, nice looking fleece that is worth the price!
I'm a little more vain than most as such, I resist any attempt to add bulk to my frame. I am always extremely pleased with any Northface product, and I was with this one- it was warm and fit just right sleeve-wise, length-wise and size-wise. However, it was a little bulkier than I expected. Granted, I've been spoiled by the Northface Apex Bionic, which is deceptively warm for its thin layering, so please interpret bulkiness in the context of my expecting almost a bodysuit fit...
I love this website, but I learned more about the materials that are in our landfills than about the products performace. I am more concerned about the fact that Northface has jackets, shoes, and other outdoor gear made in China than I am about what is going on in our landfills. I will keep shopping for another jacket NOT made in China.
