I bought two pair of these shoes, one in a size 12.5 and the other in a 3.5...the smaller pair came with the zip ties and the larger shoe came with regular laces so I sent them back to get a replacement shoe. But then the new ones also came in with laces. She has been wearing them with the laces so I can't return those shoes again, but I'm wondering....are the larger sizes supposed to come with zip ties or not? If so, is there a way to have some sent to me for the shoes? Thanks

We just purchased these hiking shoes for our 6 year old daughter. She is extremely picky about her feet. It is almost always a 20 minute chore getting her shoes on so that they do not "bug" her feet. When we put these on she never complained once. We even went for a mile walk, on pavement, because she wanted to "test them out," and she still had no complaints. She said that they were very comfortable. The shoes have "mesh-like" vents on the sides that keep feet cool. They also have the option of shoe strings or bungee cord lacing. The shoes run true to their sizing. I would definitely suggest buying these shoes to someone that is looking for hiking shoes.

They are designed for light hiking, so they will not perform ideally in rough terrain (your feet will probably fatigue quicker).

The shoes run true to their sizing. You can view a sizing chart by going to their website, http://www.thenorthface.com/na/sizing-FWY.html. You can get the shoe size in comparison to the size of your foot in centimeters.I hope I have helped.

My 9 year old loves these shoes. They are lightweight, fit comfortably, breathe well and can go anywhere. She really loves the pull ties instead of the traditional laces. Great shoe.
