Prolix Softshell Jacket - Men's

For bike commutes or frosty morning jogs, The North Face Prolix Softshell Jacket has the stretch and wind protection you need. The Apex Aerobic soft shell stretches as you run, bike, or climb, while its wind- and water-resistance perform like a hardshell. A DWR finish and drop tail hem lets the rain bead off your back as you ride your bike to work, and the wind permeability rating of 20 CFM blocks out the chilly breeze of spring or fall. The Prolix’s breathable UPF 30 fabric also keeps your skin healthy when exposed to the sun for hours.

Bottom Line: Train for a triathlon or just stay warm on your daily jog.

This is simply a softshell jacket. It is not insulated with anything and isn't made to be waterproof. With that in mind, if you use it what it was made for - aerobic excercise - it is a sweet jacket. It breathes very well which is great for running, and it lets through just enough wind to allow efficient cooling without losing too much heat when it's cold out. This and a merino baselayer will keep you warm down to fairly low temps when you're moving. Five stars because it serves its purpose beautifully.

Do you have any idea how this jacket compares to the Apex Bionic?

Hi James,
Would you still use the jacket on a 20-25 degree weather? Keep in mind you'd probably put 2 more layers of cloths on before the jacket. Thanks!

Is this shell jacket compatable with your Northface Denali fleece

Is this shell jacket compatable with your Northface Denali fleece jacket. Will the zippers correspond?

No. The only shells that accept zip-ins are the Mountain Light and Varius Guide jackets. You can of course always layer, but this jacket is very fitted and the only way you'd be able to fit this over a Denali would be to go one or even two sizes up.
Hopefully I've answered your question.

Thin, but nice.

Feels great, and like all North Face stuff looks good, it is however quite thin.
