The North Face Prolix Pant uses four-way stretch material to make sure that you can move free and easy without bunching or binding. The Prolix was designed to be windproof and water-resistant to protect you from the elements. The Apex aerobic softshell material is extremely breathable so you don’t get sweating and clammy during your workout.

Bottom Line: Making bad weather good.

Boulders to Big Walls and Beyond.

I wore a pair of these up Raphael in Patagonia this year with a pair of medium weight wool long underwear and they fit the bill perfectly. As a stand a lone pant they are great for hiking, bouldering, or bigwalling in Yosemite. These pants are super light....dry out amazingly fast if soaked and repel water up to a certain point. Great do it all pants for the climber, trekker, or traveler.

Has anyone who climbs in these had troubles with the ankle area

Has anyone who climbs in these had troubles with the ankle area being to large/wide? I have these pants and they are great but wanted them for alpine rock climbing and the bottoms obscure my feet so much I dont like it. (I sewed a piece of shock cord in the ankle cuffs, but was wonder others expereince/solution.)

These are great for almost anything! I wear mine running, hiking, scrambling, and snowshoeing. A great alternative to heavy hiking pants that have way too many pockets and zippers and don't stretch. They are wind resistant and breathe well. They have a kind of performance fit, which I like, but I don't feel like I am wearing tights either. I'm a 32X30 and a small fits me great.

i wear a 32 and bought these in a large and they fit like a 33. so i think you could get away w/ a large, but might enjoy an XL better.

this is a great all around pant for spring/fall weather; the performance fit makes it great for rock climbing w/o feeling like you are wearing tights or nut huggers. i wear a 34/32 and Large fit like a gem.
