The North Face Powerstretch Balaclava gives you full face and head protection in the worst weather. Polartec Power Stretch material is lightweight and compacts very small, so you can easily bring it along on any trek—just in case the weather gets nasty. The Powerstretch Balaclava fits easily under a helmet or hat and can be worn as a neck gator as well.
Bottom Line: Once you try in out, you'll never leave it behind again.
This thing really takes the edge off those cold and windy days. Has good coverage and has been durable. I bought a Medium and it fits a little more snug than I would prefer and I have a small head.
I picked up my North Face balaclava during the season last year. Very comfortable. Keeps your mug warm on those nasty windy days and you can roll it up into a silly-looking beanie or poke your head through the facehole like a gaiter when it gets too warm. :)
Is this balaclava for women? I am looking for an top notch balaclava and love north face products. I see there is no small! Does this product come in a small?

Got it in for this winter , fits very nice prefect fit not to tight or loose, covers entire face , also easy to breath . I would order a size large unless you have a very small head .
I bought this balaclava just before Christmas this Winter and have been loving it. We've had a cold and snow-filled winter in Iowa and it's done a fantastic job keeping me warm and dry while blowing snow or just shoveling. The neck goes just far enough down into my coat to ensure my neck doesn't get cold at all. The face opening is just large enough to not impede vision while still keeping you warm. It also breathes really well!
I just bought the North Face Balaclava intending to use it for cold weather motorcycling, and it works like a dream. It keeps my chin and throat warm and covers the back of my neck too. This is a great product!
I have always wanted one of these and finally decided on this one from North Face. This is a great product. I have used it in temps in the teens and single digits along with 15mph wind and had no problems with keeping warm. It kept my head, face, and neck nice and cozy. It is a snug fit, but it helps keeps you warm.
Just as those waxing eloquently before me, this piece of gear is just what the doctor ordered while I walk McDuff in sub-freezing temperatures with the wind bearing down me in my Georgia mountaintop community. A little on the pricey side, but you've got to pay for this kind of quality. I noticed there was writing on the tag indicating TNF sells this thing in Russia. My guess is it's pretty effective in Siberia too...
Just wore this for the first time last weekend in temps of upper 20's to lower 30's. Worked like a charm, no hat needed, ears toasty and no problem hearing. It's nice and soft and stretchy which made it easy to pull down below my chin too. I wear L for a helmet, when I wear a helmet and this fit snugly but not tight. Could do without that stupid logo blazing on the forehead but I'll cope..
I don't care how dumb my wife thinks it looks when I wear it around the house (it's just so soft), this thing performs really well. I wore this on summit day on Kilimanjaro (with a heavy fleece cap on top), and I was really happy with it. It also performed well on cold days going to work (no more frozen snot). The material is great and retains its elasticity when you pull it under your chin or around your neck to wear it like a neck gaiter.
As good as it gets. It was worn by my Alaskan Malamute in cold conditions and I never heard any complains. Now I wear it myself and I love it, it even keeps the wind on a distance.
I recently purchased the powerstretch balaclava. It works very well, but if you are tall like me then there isnt enough material at the bottom to keep your neck completely insulated. Other than that it is a great buy!!!
The North Face Powerstretch Balaclava is one of my best buys so far this season. Comfortable, affordable, very warm, and very useful for those days that are especially cold. On those days I don't leave home without it.
