The North Face Women's Philter is designed for those who seek breathability and drainage from a sport shoe. Moisture can wreak havoc on a day on the trail if you aren't prepared, that's why The North Face designed the Philter. Ideal for damp and muggy environments, the Philter is constructed of water-resistant synthetic nubuck to help prevent the wearer from getting wet. If the wearer does become water-logged, the open-air sandwich-mesh helps the Philter and the feet quickly dry out. The Philter's non-marking HydroTrak rubber outsole comes complete with integrated drainage ports that act like a bilge pump for your feet.
Bottom Line: The North Face Women's Philter is one phat shoe that's definitely not aqua phobic.

I've had mine for over a year now, and they have held up very well. They get into the water about 2-3 times per week in the cooler spring and fall kayaking season, and walk the dog 5 days/week. I would definitely recommend them for a casual athletic shoe.

I needed more ankle support than a water sandal and this is great. It is light, comfortable and can be easily worn while shopping on shore.

I wear a size 10 and they were way too small. My mother who wears a size 9 said they fit perfectly on her foot, so my advice is to go up a 1/2 or whole size since. Other then that I loved the look of shoe and am disappointed that they didn't work out.

My boyfriend and I both got a pair of these shoes, and they were way better than we ever expected. I took them when I hiked The Narrows (read: hiking IN the Virgin River) in Southern Utah. They not only drained water in seconds, they also protected my feet a million times better than a pair of water sandals would have. I highly recommend these for any one who needs some killer water shoes.

Really comfortable. Using them as a casual shoe (rather than hiking). The light fabric is great, and they will be fantastic in the heat of summer.
