The North Face smartly designed the Women’s Pharak Fleece Jacket with a thick, high-loft fleece body and highly breathable underarm and side panels. So you can stay cozy and warm when you’re standing still, and enjoy tons of ventilation in high-perspiration areas when you crank up your body’s thermostat with aerobic activity. Zip this jacket into compatible The North Face shells when you’re skiing up a storm… in a storm.
Bottom Line: Warmth, wicking, and breathability. You really can have your cake and eat it too.
OK GUYS, I NEED SOME REAL HELP HERE, THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZZZZZY! I BOUGHT THE NORTH FACE WINDWALL 1 (I AM A WOMEN) IT IS TOO SHORT! I AM LOOKING FOR ONE THAT IS A LITTLE LONGER, FLEECE, AND SOMEWHAT FITTED (I AM 5'2, 125) PLEEEZ HELP! TOO MANY CHOICES AND I DO NOT HAVE ANYWHERE HERE IN ##***<><> OHIO TO TRY ANY ON! I HAVE BEEN SOLEY GOING ON WEB PICS! I HAVE THE NORTH FACE KHUMBU, LOVE IT! BUT LOOKING FOR SOMETHING ELSE AS DESCRIBED.......THANKS! AMY ;0)
I would also recommend The North Face Momentum Fleece for something that is a little longer and fitted. It is also a "hard face" fleece, with lots of stretch, so a nice change from traditional fleece. Hope this helps
Forgot to add that this Pharak jacket fits the bill too: warm (TKA 300 - same as Khumbu) and long enough (25.5 inches b. l.).
Anyway, i didn't suggest the Momentum like Dave did 'cos i'm not sure if the Momentum's TKA Superstretch fleece would be warm enough (its modified for added stretch-use?).
TNF has a range of active fleeces like the Borealis jacket that aren't heavy fleece types; just right for active use. Hence my list of fleeces that range from TKA 200-300 / Polartec 300.
Hi. i am gathering u need it as a warmth jacket, judging from the fact that you prefer fleece, u like your Khumbu (25.5 inches back length, built with TKA 300 fleece weight which is very warm) and that the Windwall 1 is too short (24 inches back length). Here's five choices, hope this helps you decide better! (Btw i am NOT a TNF rep...!)
1. Pumori jacket - fleece, Polartec 200 (not as warm as Khumbu but lighter), 26 inches back length - One of the "staple" mid-layers, beside the Khumbu.
2. Denali jacket - fleece, Polartec 300 (as warm as Khumbu, if not warmer), 26 inches b. l. - Very common jacket, but try the new color schemes (White heather).
3. Solar Flare jacket - knitted fleece (as warm as Khumbu), 26 inches b. l. - A new product from TNF, with nice textures.
4. Osito Jacket - silken fleece (not as warm as Khumbu), 25.5 inches b. l. - The silken fleece has a luxurious feel to it.
5. TKA 200 Kimber Full Zip - fleece (TKA 200 - not as warm as Khumbu), back length NOT KNOWN, unfortunately - This is great where budget is concerned. U can try to check with TNF live assistant (like a live chat).

I bought this jacket as a Christmas gift for my wife and she really loved it. She said that the fit was great and very cozy. It is so warm that there is no need to wear anything but a t-shirt underneath.
So about The North Face Sentinel Thermal Jacket that you recommended, I'm concerned that it won't fit over my hips correctly. I'm a XS or a S in most tops but I'm a size 29 in pants...small waist but bigger hips. When you say alpine fit, does it just come in at the waist and flare back out a little at the bottom so to fit over your hips a little? Kinda like and hour glass fit? Or is it just straight down?
Hi again - couple of things. It is fitted, so it has nice shape to it- not a boxy cut. It also has some stretch to it, so this will also help make for a nice fit. I think you will be happier with a piece that is more fitted like the Sentinel, and you get the additional benefits of being 100% windproof, and having a super soft high loft fleece interior.
This jacket is great! I bought the denim blue color. The side panels are stretchy, which allows for a great fit and more flexibility in your movement. Also, the lighter side panels give a slimming effect (bonus!). It's a perfect spring, fall, and light winter jacket.
This jacket is not wind resistant. It is also the standard fit. If you are looking for something that is windproof and more of an athletic fit, check out The North Face Sentinel Thermal Jacket, and if you don't want an athletic fit, check out The North Face Windwall 1 or Windwall 2 jackets for a wind resistant fleece with a standard fit. Hope this helps.
