Great looking design but funky on

I took the current reviews in consideration before purchasing this coat and took my chances. I tried it on and knew right away that it wasn't going to work. I am usually an XS to S in coats and the XS was way too big. As other reviewers have mentioned, the bottom of the coat bells out so it looks like you are wearing a dress form and it really looks funky. Too bad, it's a cute style with the peacoat look but I packaged it right up and sent it back.
I love this jacket!

I can't believe this coat doesn't get 5 stars across the board! Very flattering and warm. I'm a medium and the medium fits great (a little roomy). There's enough room to wear a thick sweater and layers. I've gotten lots of compliments on my coat. I feel a need to buy a couple more as backup to have for the future.
Had to send it back

When I bought the coat, there were 2 good reviews and 2 bad, so I thought it was worth a shot. Unforunately, I can't get past the funky bottom bell shape to the coat and had to return it. Also, I'm 100 percent sure the Dark Navy color is indeed Black...I would like to mention that the Live Chat folks rock and I will do business with Back Country again!
wonderful!

My sister just got it, and i tried on and i can say that its really very, very nice coat. she took XS and it fits me perfectly - I'm very slim, its true. i think it would be nice to add a belt, but even without that it looks OK, especially for young girls. I'm looking forward to getting mine (by the way, i ordered it too - please, deliver it quickly :))!
bad fit

I wanted to LOVE this jacket. I ordered a Large and XL. I am 5'10 and 160lbs, they both were huge. The large fit in the shoulders but the bottom bells out and is unflattering. just a bad fit and design
Runs large - esp in hips

I so wanted to like this jacket, but it runs very large - it is not a fitted jacket. The fit is just strange - the lower half of the jacket, through the hips, sticks way out to the sides and looks clownish. The shoulders are also large compared to normal TNF sizing. Maybe a size down would help, but the hips would still stick way out.
Love This North Face

The Paulette Down Peacoat from The North Face is the best update to a warm down coat I've seen in a while. Finally, a coat that will keep you warm while still looking well put together. Fit is good, runs slightly big, but that's probably a good thing if you'll have sweaters or heavier layers underneath. I'm 5'7 120 and the small fits well.
