A down winter jacket with a sophisticated spin.

Chicago to Philadelphia to Chamonix to Munich and more, The North Face Women's Parkina Down Jacket offers stylish warmth for your winter urban outfits. Note to the ski-bum fashionistas: the Parkina plays well with the après-ski or blazing bonfire bevy, too. In short, when conditions demand water resistance and big warmth with sleek style and sophistication, you'll be thrilled to have the Parkina in your closet.

Treated with DWR, the durable polyester twill shell offers water resistance from spitting sleet and snow flurries. A slippery nylon satin twill lining lets the Parkina skim over any top, be it your boyfriend's fisherman sweater or your hand-beaded little black dress. In between, you'll find 600-fill goose down, keeping you warm on your January gallery stroll or while you're waiting for the local bus to take you back to the mountain chalet in Turino. The down is even water resistant, which means if moisture does seep through the shell, the down will retain some of its warmth. If the wind picks up before you've arrived for the ball, the adjustable hood will protect your updo and prevent body heat from escaping through your head. The faux-fur trim can be removed, but you look so cute when your face is framed in fur, why would you take it off?

Feminine lines create a sleek silhouette, accentuated by a belted waist and modern quilting. Not only does quilting enhance the haute-couture element, it also prevents the down insulation from shifting and collecting in favored locations. An internal media pocket with cord guide lets you listen to music or talk with friends without having to take your hands out of your pockets. Stretch cuffs and the stand-up collar are reinforcements against an army of bitter breezes and shiver-creating snow. Add a cashmere scarf and leather gloves, and strut your (warm) winter stuff down 5th Avenue.

Best jacket ever!!!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

I absolutely love this yes the jacket runs small but you'll just have to order it a size bigger. Jackets perfect it's not puffy at all it thin but it does a great job at keeping you warm. It's not short so if you bend over or stretch it doesn't expose your back or let the wind go in through the bottom. This jacket was a life saver for me through this years crazy -20 Chicago winter!!! I highly recommend this jacket it looks nice and fits perfectly. It even has a pocket inside the coat which I just recently discovered. All pockets zip up and jacket has an extra sleeves that go over your gloves so the wind can't go in either!

Short Sleeves

  • Fit: Runs small

I currently have 2 north face jackets and was hoping to add a more "stylish" one to the mix. I ordered the same size as always, but the sleeves on this particular coat were about 5 inches too short. I looked like I was wearing a child's coat! Back it goes!! The shoulders and length were perfect. Quite sad.

Please help mw i want to know if this coat...

Hi Lisa,

Where the coat falls on your body is largely determined by your torso length. This coat is designed to come below the belt, but it typically will not go all the way to your thigh--so mid-bum length for most people.

See a picture of this jacket on a model in the North Face catalog to get a better idea:

Hope this helps!
