Like any good convertible, The North Face Paramount II Women's Convertible Pant is all about having a good fun, except it prefers trails, rocks, and woods to winding coastal roads. Its stretch nylon fabric is treated with a DWR coating to repel water, and the active fit lets you move easily through foreign cities and dappled woodlands. Best of all, you can roll up and button the cuffs for a 3/4-length fit, or zip off the legs if temperatures call for shorts. No matter how you sport the Paramount, the internal waist drawcord will keep your pants from falling down, and the UPF 30 sun protection will shield your legs from harmful rays.

    • Internal drawcord waist
    • Hand, cargo, back, and phone pockets

Look great but new seam is annoying

    • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
    • Fit:True to size
    • Size Bought: 4

I bought a pair of the original Paramount hiking pants in 2008. I absolutely loved them! They were durable and flattering and I wore them until they finally started falling apart this year. I bought the new version of the pants, hoping I'd love them just as much, but unfortunately there's a problem: the North Face added thick, rough seams down the front of the legs. While the seams look pretty cool, they rub harshly against my skin -- especially my knees -- causing irritation with every step. I plan to return the pants and continue my frustrating quest to find hiking pants that look AND feel great. (P.S. -- If you don't have sensitive skin like me, you might love the pants!)

    Great pants

    • Fit:True to size
    • Size Bought: 4 and 6

I bought two pairs with the intention of returning the one that didn't fit-a size 4 long and a 6 long. I wound up keeping both of them. The 4 is a little snug but after wearing them for a couple hours they're perfect. And the 6 fits perfectly when I first try them on, but after a few hours they're a little baggy (which is fine). I don't love the internal draw string but otherwise these are great pants. No chaffing after 8-10 hours of hiking.

    Great fit - To Short

    • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
    • Fit:True to size

I'm 5'3'' and by the size guide, a 6. I measured a 30'' inseam so I bought the short length. However when I tried the pants on, they were a few inches to short. I had to return and get a 6 Regular. I would suggest getting a size longer than you think you need.

    Tight in the Thighs

    • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
    • Fit:Runs small
    • Size Bought: 4 Short

I was really excited to try out these pants because it's hard for me to find great pants in a short length. I really wanted to love them but unfortunately they were too tight in the thighs. If you have bigger thighs, I wouldn't recommend these pants. It's a shame because they fit perfect everywhere else!

    Perfect length

    • Size Bought: 8 T

I am a 5 ' 11" and was looking for a pair of convertible pants that would do the trick. These pants in long were the perfect length for me. In addition, I found that the seam on the thigh (where the zipper is) was very comfortable in comparison to other brands that I tried.
