Description

Cut for the climb.

A harness-friendly waistband makes The North Face Men's Paramount Traverse Pant the ideal choice for pulling rock. Durable nylon body fabric resists abrasive sandstone to protect your pampered skin when you're getting vertical, and a water-resistant DWR finish shrugs off light precipitation. Heel hooks are pretty much impossible with flexible threads, so the Paramount has a gusseted crotch for mobility and articulation at the knees so you can get a full extension. Blue jeans might do the trick in the gym, but reach for the Paramount for more serious excursions.

I had to send this back just because the legs were so stinkin' huge. Some people might like that, but it just wasnt what I was looking for...

Customer Recently Stated "When trying on the same size between this and the The North Face Burke Pant this ran about one size smaller. Keep that in mind when purchasing!"

I've used this for backpacking for about three years...no complaints! I did buy a pair of prana zion stretch pants to replace them recently, and I like the prana's better but they are more expensive. These are solid, never ripped or tore. I'd recommend them to everyone looking for a solid backpacking pant that won't break the bank.

These pants have HUGE legs, especially when you get near the ankles. So much so that I had to hem them to keep from snagging on bushes (in my life its usually cactuses). I haven't tried out the DWR yet but as far as wind goes, it does block out quite a bit. I like the pockets. Left side has a zippered pocket on the thigh that is a perfect fit for an iPhone. Right side cargo pocket is sorta tough to get into but holds things well. My only issue with the pockets is that the hand pockets are right on top of the cargo pockets and the inside contents tend to knock to gather. As the reviewer below had stated that the fabric is really weak, I could definitely see what they are talking about. One good spill in these would do some damage. Other than that, I think these are great pants! I

First crash and was missing 5 sq inches of material, it just disintegrated. Finished off another 150 miles the pants looked like I had crawled through 150 miles of blackberry vines. Ended up cutting the legs off into shorts. Trail angel ended up driving these things to the dumpster for me around mile 400.

Bought these souly for climbing and they are great!

They are super light, strong and will not snag your knees when making a high foot in climbing. Reviewing pants is hard they really only have one job and so far these have done their job very well for the past 4 months.

Only problem is their price, the North Face is very good at unreasonable prices but as I said they are really nice at keeping your knees and shins intact when climbing.
