Paramount Explorer II Pant - Men's

The North Face built the Men's Paramount Explorer II Hiking Pant to stand up to the abuse that miles of hiking can dish out. Abrasion-resistant, midweight nylon shrugs off branches and brambles so you can blast through undergrowth without worrying about snags in your pants or scrapes on your legs. The DWR finish keeps you dry on drizzly days, and a UPF rating of 30 means that the sun won't cook you when the weather is nice.

Bottom Line: Fully protected, no matter what the weather is doing.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

I'd also consider the Mountain Hardwear Mesa Pants, or their Canyon pants (if you can find them). They're also great lightweight pants.

Yes, these would work fine but he will need the "Long" inseam and they currently only have the "Regulars" in stock.

Can these pants be altered(ie shortened) without compromising the integrity, or voiding any warranty, of the pants?
Thank you,

typically any alterations will void the garments warranty. As far as compromising the integrity, any reputable tailor should be able to make them shorter without losing functionality.

I puchased 2 pair of these pants and have found them to be just what I needed. We recently traveled through Greece and Italy and I was able to hand wash them each night and have them dry by morning. I also took a couple of travel shirts made of a quick dry sun shield material. They also dried overnight as did the other essentials. Althouth this is not all I carried, they made for a light load and were appropriate at 99.9% of the time. Just wish they were also made in black

Excellent fit and "wearability"..In fact I purchased two pair. Do not like to use the term "love" when talking about "things", so suffice it to say I am exceptionally pleased.

What sort of build do you have? Are they suitable for a tall, skinny frame?
