The North Face Pamir Windstopper Glove - 2007 BCS

I bought these for skydiving in cold weather. They don't insulate very well, but the Windstopper is good at 30mph, above that and I can feel it :) I wear them as driving gloves too, and the grippy palms work pretty well.

Bought the gloves mainly for when I ride my motorcycle. Keeps the wind out, but doesn't keep them warm. Normally my hands would go numb with my leather gloves, but these gloves kept the wind out and my fingers stayed warmer simply cause the wind wasn't getting through.

I was at first a little leary about spending so much on sothing that seemed so flimsy, but my ski buddy swore by them so I figured I'd give them a try. They did not disappoint! They're light, but don't let that fool you...by keeping the wind out they reduce the need for bulky insulation. Unlike big, fur-lined gloves your hands don't sweat in them which makes a big difference throughout the day. I wear them while inbounds skiing on all but the coldest days. The grip is awesome for hanging onto poles or a steering wheel or anything else for that matter.

I ordered a large by the sizing guide, and they are pretty tight fitting on me. This is what I wanted, though, so I can still work with my fingers. They seem pretty windproof, but not very insulated (as advertised). The grippy palms are great. I haven't had them long enough to know how durable they are.

Good gloves, but not terribly warm in colder climate, i.e., below freezing. I'm right at the bubble for size so that may be a contributing factor, in between L and XL. I went with the XL as is seemed to fit much better without compressing my hand too much. Grip is nice, but again these just don't cut it for keeping your hands warm.
