When there's a cold wind blowing, but you don't need a super-warm, bulky winter ski glove, grab The North Face Men's Pamir WindStopper Gloves. These lightweight, windproof fleece gloves protect your hands on early-spring ski and snowshoe adventures. Silicone-treated palms provide plenty of grip when you're driving on chilly mornings. Thanks to a water-resistant finish, the Pamir WindStopper Gloves repel light moisture.

Bottom Line: The North Face Pamir WindStopper Gloves give you low-bulk wind resistance.

I use these gloves on chilly bike rides and spring skiing missions. Not the warmest glove for their bulk, but for wind-stopping power and mild-temp days they are awesome.

I'm a Wisconsin resident. The winters are cool to cold (ex. today it's supposed to be mid-30s with 20+ mph wind, and two weeks ago it was below zero w/wind). How would these hold up?

Live in the Boston area where it's very windy and very cold in the winter. These gloves are terrific as they block out the winds even when temps drop below freezing! But once the temp goes down to the teens to near zero Celsius, the warmth is diminished. For the most part, these gloves will keep you warm.Mind you... the gloves are not waterproof so when it gets wet (i.e. slush conditions), the wind effectiveness is reduced.Remember to keep the gloves DRY and Clean! It's really pricey but worth it (for a TNF product). IMHO, the only competitor would be Marmot's Windstopper gloves (which I also own) which is a bit snugger than these for relatively the same price but similar quality!

Decent glvoes, but the price is steep.

These are a basic windproof glove. I think it's a 200-weight fleece, so they're reasonably warm, but they won't be sufficient below 20 or so unless you're moving. They are also simply fleece, not a softshell or anything, and despite having a DWR finish, they don't really shed any water. With that said, that's not what they're designed for so I can't complain. A good glove, but considering it's just windproof fleece, it's overkill to use Windstopper because there are cheaper windproof fleeces out there and it could've significantly dropper the price of these gloves.

Windstopper Power

By:
November 7, 2008

These rock! They are perfect for cool to cold without moisture environments. The wind is stopped dead-on as opposed to the Denali's (another great glove for less extreme weather). I have several The North Face gloves for every expected weather condition. These do as advertised, warmth and wind resistant. You will not be dissappointed with these. The design, technology, fit, and price are flawless.

Pamir Windstopper Gloves

By:
December 27, 2009

These gloves are beautiful, but the xl was a little too small for my son who always wears xl. So, we're kind of
confused about his sizing. Not sure if North Face runs small or if this particular style runs small or what.

While these gloves are great, if you are outside for hours at a time in subzero temperatures, I'd recommend getting something heavier.

great gloves!

By:

They are comfortable and warm while looking cool. The elastic band keeps them snug on your wrist and the extra couple of inches past that keep your wrist warm. The texture on the palms and 2 fingers make gripping things easy. They're great gloves!

nice gloves. I've had them for many years and they're showing very little wear. Fit is true to size. Very warm but they're not waterproof so they're not for all situations.

The other gloves aren't actually windproof. Windproofing is rated on the number of cubic feet of air per minute (CFM) that could be pumped through the fabric. The others are rated to 20 CFM, whereas Windstopper (these ones) are 0. If you're going to be using them in a legitimately windy environment, these are the ones you want.

Amazing

By:
December 3, 2008

I just bought a second pair of these gloves they are amazing for cold, windy enviroments that are not wet. The reason I am buying a new pair is I wanted to test the true windstopping power and stuck my hand out the window on the interstate at 80. It worked. But my buddy tried and lost my glove. Long story short these gloves are toasty.

Awesome Gloves

By:
March 1, 2010

These gloves are great. They are really warm but also wick very well. However, I question their lifetime durability. Used them for a couple days worth of cross-country skiing and noticed the pinkie and ring fingers were already showing signs of wear. They are still holding up great, but I haven't used them for more than casual wear since the skiing.

Great Glove - Comfortable & Warm

By:
February 12, 2010

They do stop the wind and keep my fingers warm on 30 degree windy days. Overall I love these gloves but would ahve like less of the rubber material in the finger tip and palm areas. If used with poles, I can see the use of the rubber material, but for anything else, it is not neede and would be more comfortable
