The North Face Women’s Nimble Jacket arms your torso with Apex Aerobic fabric, which just happens to be the lightest and most breathable of the Apex family. So you can go ahead and break a sweat without the inside of your jacket turning into a sauna. And, just to sweeten your next spring run, bike ride, or evening hike, this fabric deflects the wind so you don’t catch a chill. A DWR coating makes light rain bead up and drip off, and a hem cinch cord and elastic cuffs keep the cool air out.
Bottom Line: A jacket that acts as your own personal thermostat.

These do have durable water replant coating that will shed some moisture. But no, these are not considered waterproof.

I have 2 of this jacket and one 1/4 zip of the same material. I hiked in a rainy day and a friend's dog splashed mud all over my light color jacket. I washed it when I got home and it looks just like it was brand new. I love it and now thinking of getting it in other color.

i am thinking about buying a white Nimble Jacket - do you know if it washes well? Would the material peel (like fleece) from frequent washings? Thanks!

They wash very well (I have the green one). I've washed it several times, hasn't faded at all. I LOVE my Nimble Jacket. I've had a lot of compliments on my jacket.

I ordered this jacket for cool evenings after spending a day on the trail. The water repellent is obvious and when I bed down for the night, I fold it down into a great little "pillow." I've been very pleased with its performance.
Off the trail, its a great looking jacket that can be worn almost anywhere. Great for cool MI mornings or evenings around a bonfire :)
