Enjoy the mountain air inside The North Face Moraine 23 Tent. This spacious two-person, three-season tent's lightweight and airy design ensure superior air circulation—smell the cool air, not your companion's stinky socks. Slip the DAC aluminum poles through the continues sleeves and secure the flysheet with the color-coded webbing and your Moraine 23 is ready for mountain breathing. Your nose stays happy as you lie under the canopy's mesh panels—your buddy's boots are at a safe distance under the large front vestibule. You can couple the Moraine 23 with its footprint (sold separately) for olfactory-friendly fly-only pitching and with The North Face #2 Gear Loft (sold separately) for extra breathing room.

Bottom Line: The Moraine 23's roomy interior, light weight, and simple construction make it ideal for sniffing the wind at base camp.

Adequately Affordable Shelter

The TNF Moraine 23 is a good base camp tent (a little heavy for backpacking). I’ve had this tent for over a year; used it from the soggy Northwest, the deserts of Arizona, and the mountains of ID and UT. It’s sturdy, it holds up in wind, it stays dry, it’s well ventilated (w/out fly) and it’s an easy pitch. Get the footprint. Three drawbacks: the tent loves, absolutely adores, condensation (w/fly); a little too much dependence on stakes; and black guy lines for easy tripping, day or night. There are better tents, but the cost/benefit makes the Moraine 23 a solid choice.

Good tent

This is a nice tent, but it is pretty tight with two people over 6 ft in it.
