Slip the DAC aluminum poles through the continues sleeves and secure the flysheet with the color-coded webbing and your Moraine 23 is ready for mountain breathing. Your nose stays happy as you lie under the canopy's mesh panels—your buddy's boots are at a safe distance under the large front vestibule. You can couple the Moraine 23 with its footprint (sold separately) for olfactory-friendly fly-only pitching and with The North Face #2 Gear Loft (sold separately) for extra breathing room.
Bottom Line: The Moraine 23's roomy interior, light weight, and simple construction make it ideal for sniffing the wind at base camp.

I've seen this tent set up before (some fellow at a campground had this tent to share with this 4-legged friend), and I gotta say that it would be a very tight fit with 3 people. There are some great tents out there that are 3-person that are lighter (the Big Agnes Emerald Mtn comes to mind):http://www.backcountry.com/store/BAG0061/Big-Agnes-Eme

3 people of any moderate size would be uncomfortable. I use this tent in all seasons and two people with winter gear is fairly comfortable, but it could absolutely not accommodate 3 with cold weather gear, and very unlikely in warm weather as well. If your looking to fit three people, there are much better options.

I've used this tent in all seasons and it works well. Easy to set up and take down, and the fly fits well and ties tight for windy and snowy conditions. Double doors is extremely nice. It's a bit heavy, but for the price you can't complain.

Since purchasing The North Face Moraine tent, I have been really psyched - the tent is easy to set up and take down, durable, well-vented and affordable. My favorite feature is the doors on either side of the tent - forget about climbing on/over the others when you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, you can get out from either side!
Works great with the TNF Moraine footprint also.
Does the Moraine 23 have two vestibules, each one measuring 16
Does the Moraine 23 have two vestibules, each one measuring 16 sq ft, or is it a single vestibule measuring 16 sq ft and no vestibule for the second door?

The Moraine 23 has one 16 sq.ft. front vestibule & none for the other door.

The North Face Moraine 23 Bx Tent is the first tent I've ever owned and I have been psyched ever since it arrived at my house. The Moraine 3-person is a nice, durable tent that is easy to setup and break down. With doors on either side, you don't have to climb over or around the others in the tent when trying to get in or out. Overall, a great tent - I highly recommend it.
*If you are going to buy this tent, consider getting the matching footprint - I did, and it works perfectly (as I expected).
