Perfect for the snow, and it does have a DWR treatment. If you are in really wet snow conditions frequently, you may want to check something out like The North Face Octagon Down Jacket (waterproof w/ down insulation), but generally I wouldn't be too worried about getting the Moondoggy wet in general snowy conditions.

definitely not.
You need to hand wash down with woolite or a special down soap.
It can be machine dried though, takes absolutely forever.

My twin 9 yr old grandsons love this jacket. One likes to wear it with the stripe side out.
We did need to change up in size. I purchased the M (10-12) for them, but too small. The large is just right.

I have a three year old and a four year old, according to the size chart my four year old should be in a xxs and my three year old should be to small to fit in any size, I originally bought them an xxs and xs because someone else wrote that they ran small, that didn't work I had to return them. My four year old who is 43 inches tall and very skinny wears the small and it fits with a little room to grow this year. My three year old who is 40 inches tall wears the xs. i would see how tall your son is and go two sizes larger in the chart. I can only say what worked the second time around for us. Good Luck.

Love this jacket, my son loves it as well, however the zipper just came off and we've only had it a couple of weeks :(
