Super warm, comfortable and lightweight.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

I purchased this coat because it is lightweight and I thought I would give up being really warm but I didn't. It is every bit as warm as my down jacket without the bulk. I just love it and couldn't be happier with it.

it's been cold in Michigan

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

I got this jacket in December just in time for the coldest winter on record for Michigan. it has kept me warm in zero degree temperatures but is breathable for the hours of commuting I have had to do because of multiple snow storms. this has really been the perfect winter coat.

Jacket for Georgia winter

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got this jacket as a Christmas gift for a relative in Georgia who tends to get chilly pretty easily but didn't need a full-on winter jacket, and she was thrilled with it. Her favorite features were the cottony outer material (rather than typical jacket material that makes swishy noises) and the curvy rather than straight fit.

Love this jacket

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small

This jacket is light weight but warm. It is very stylish. It has a feminine shape. Be warned, this jacket runs small. I typically wear a medium in North Face but I had to return this for a large.

After washing, it looks the same. Very happy with this jacket

too tight in shoulders

  • Fit: Runs small

It is a great Jacket but too tight in shoulders. I am usually wearing L or XL, NorthFace Arctic parka in size L ffits me well, but this jacket in size XL is very tight in shoulders, especially when I bend elbows. I have to return it.

Great fall jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I bought this jacket for this fall weather when I wasn't quite ready to be wearing a full winter coat. Even though it is November in North Dakota, I am still wearing the coat quite frequently. I actually found this coat in a store but wasn't ready to purchase it yet, so was happy to find it on with free shipping and additional colors. I ordered a small and sometimes they tend to be a little big but this coat fits great. The thing I like most about the jacket is that it is more fitted around the waist so it gives you some shape instead of just hanging on you. I've worn it with light sweatshirts underneath and I still have no problem zipping it up. I also decided on this coat because it has a hood on it.

Is this coat warm enough to wear in WI...

Is this coat warm enough to wear in WI winters

I would not recommend wearing The North Face Miss Kit Full-Zip Hooded Jacket as a solo piece or even with just light layers in Wisconsin in the Winter. While this jacket has some nice 60g Heatseeker insulation, it is also 80% cotton in the body with no waterproof or even water resistant face fabric to resist the wind and rain. This is really intended as a light winter piece or something warm for Fall and Spring. I would either layer another coat over the top of this or consider something like the Arcteryx Patera, the Canada Goose Montebello, Patagonia Tres Down Parka, or Patagonia NorthWest Down Parka instead.

I can't seem to find care instructions for this jacket. Is it machine washable, et cetera? Thanks!

Will it be warm enough for a New York...

Will it be warm enough for a New York winter - suggestions please.

I think this would be a pretty good jacket that would keep you warm 90% of the time in the New York winters. The 60 grams of synthetic insulation will keep you pretty warm even if its that driving wet snow and the long length and high collar will really help with the strong side winds you can get. Now my only concern is that since this is an hourglass shape with pretty slim arms, if you do ever need to layer then I am not sure how much room you will have.
