When the snow covers it all.

Zip into The North Face Men's McMurdo Down Parka II when the city looks less like a city and more like an arctic tundra. HyVent's waterproof breathable membrane protects the down insulation's heavyweight warmth from wet weather. Both the hood and faux fur trim are removable to accommodate brisk but sunny conditions. There's also an emergency neck gaiter for secure coverage, and media compatibility lets you play summery music to complement the warm feeling you have as you walk down wintry streets.

    Not good in the North

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium

I freeze with this jacket in the arms and sometimes in the chest. I purchased this for Toronto weather which averages -20 to -30 C (-4F to -20F) in the winter. I wear many layers underneath in order to stay warm.

    Excellent Jacket

    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Large

Very roomy , with nice detachable hood and the color I pick is very rare being the camouflage. I purchase this jacket on summer time , so have not have the chance to use it , fit is very good , allow you layer and move your arms freely , I have other Mc Murdo version a military olive green and I love the fit.

    Best winter jacket ever!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

    I love this jacket!

I always read a ton of reviews before to purchase something for me and this was not the exception, I read that the other guys with almost the same height and weight were having issues with the size, I ordered a Large and it fits well.

    *Pros*

    * It's a big jacket, but when the temperature drops you will want to wear this jacket, that's for sure.
    * I tested it in NYC with temperatures lower than 20 F and I was always warm and toasty without any base layer. So I guess you can layer it for lower temperatures.
    * The pockets are large and convenient.
    * The Jacket brings an internal face-mask attached to the hood, this makes it perfect for cold wind.

    *Cons*

    * There is just one inner pocket. It would be great to have at least 2.

    Best winter jacket ever!

    Great Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: MEDIUM

I am 5'11 185lbs. I typically run between a medium/large. Ordered the large which was way too big, returned for the medium which fits perfectly

5'9" and 280 lbs. Which size should I order?

I just found that I'm actually 94KG and 184cm😭, much fater than I used to think, would you please tell me which size is best for me now? Thank you very much.

You sound like a perfect size Large! My our goofy empirical system of measurements, you are 6ft and 207lbs. If you want a baggy coat, with lots of layers underneath, you could pull off an XL, but the Large will give you a normal fit and look. More questions? Just call or email me, directly. 801.746.7587 ---->ejenson@backcountry.com

Ive just bought this coat and it extremely difficult to get it zipped up.

This parka is 4 lb 3 oz, about 2KGs. So will it be too heavy to wear comfortably?

For normal daily use, this will be a comfortable parka, and not too heavy. It's great for commuting and walking around your town or city. For something like hiking or skiing, this would be too warm and cumbersome.

Email me or call me directly, if you have more questions.

The McMurdo is made to protect the person from the harsh cold winter! It is relatively heavy and cumbersome to wear but will keep the person warm. It also depends on what you do with it.

If you're planning on performing any outdoor activities that involve lots of movement, then this jacket is not recommended.

I'm about 80KGs and 180cm, would you tell me which size is best for me? Thank you very much.

I want to get this coat for my fiance fora Christmas gift. If it happens to be too small how long do I have to exchange it for a longer size. He is 6'2 and roughly 235lbs on thinking an XL. He does like to layer up and still have room though.

I am 6'3" and am 220 lbs. Im torn between a large and XL... Any suggestions?

The body itself is roomy but not so much the sleeves or chest. I'm 6', ~220lb with broad shoulders and fit an XL. It's roomy but I also layer underneath with a thick fleece sweater and other clothing.

It also depends on your build not just what you wear underneath.

Best to find a store in your area that has one to try on.

Hello, I am 6' tall and 154lbs. Which size should I choose? Any recommendations!

May want to try a Large size. The jacket is roomy and meant to be worn over (layers of) clothing since it is meant for cold, wintery conditions.

Check to see a store in your area has one available for your to try on.

Do you have more stocks for S size of Tnf Black?

I am 5'11 180 lbs moderate build. it seems i am between a medium and large. any recommendations on which would be a better fit?

Does this coat have snaps all the way down the front?

    Thank you.
