Best for casual use.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: large

This is unlike any fleece jacket I've tried. It is a heavy material, but not "heavy-thick". It's heavy, dense, and thin with a hard feeling and a hard smooth exterior. It seems to run a standard-relaxed fit for a northface which translates to a little loose and roomy. Normally at 6-feet 200lbs a large runs tight on me, but this fits well in a large. I think that it's best as a casual fleece jacket. It almost has the feel of a soft shell, but has no water resistance and more wind resistance then a typical fleece. It has no loft or thickness to the material, so I think it would make a poor insulating layer under a shell-if that's what you're after. It's stylish and looks great, so I think that it would be ideal for wearing around town as a light jacket. I think the outdoor applications are limited to more casual use.
