Description

Take only what you need.

There's no reason to carry your giant winter sleeping bag during a light-and-fast summer backpacking trip. The North Face Lynx 40-Degree Sleeping Bag packs just enough ClimaShield synthetic insulation to keep you warm during those summer nights on trail and not an ounce more.
  • An EN lower-limit rating of 37° F means that this bag is best used for summer trips in the mountains and for three-season use at lower elevations
  • ClimaShield Prism's densely packed synthetic fibers trap more heat than standard synthetics and help the insulation retain greater loft despite repeated compressions
  • ClimaShield Apex's fine-denier fibers reflect radiant heat back to you for a warmer night's sleep
  • Internal draft tube, mummy shape, and hood keep warmth next to your body
  • Overlapping shingle construction eliminates cold spots by distributing the synthetic insulation evenly
  • Vaulted footbed won't constrict your feet and helps promote circulation to your lower extremities
  • Ergonomically shaped hood provides extra comfort, improves the bag's warmth-retention, and reduces its overall weight
  • Pockets along the draft tube keep your batteries warm and headlamp within reach
  • Compression stuff sack (included) helps you minimize the bag's size in your pack

This bag is light, stuffs small, and has kept me warm, albeit inside a tent, with outside temps in the 30s. It is a bit narrow at shoulders. This bag is perfect for basecamping with a 30-50L ruthsac, eliminating the need to use a larger backpack, and carry a second ascent pack.
