It is really a light gray with a very fine black pinstripe in it. Black probably wasn't the best description from North Face, but it is a very cool color.

I am from Australia and trying to track down some really hard wearing ski bib pants. I have narrowed my list to North face products and want some adive on choosing between the lobster, foundation and mammatus bib pants. I am 6"8' and about 280 pounds so will need XXL - XXXL in black or grey. Most of my time is spent guideing with adpative sking equipment such as sit skis, out riggers etc so the gear needs to be pretty tough. Any thoughts?

I'm about 6'3" 180 lbs and the large fits me pretty well. I was worried that they would be a llittle short; the chest part perhaps doesn't come up as high as it should, but the legs are fine. I've been using them snowboarding in the Sierras and the venting system is fantastic. They seem to be very well made, and very waterproof. There are probably more zippers than necessary, and the fit is not very loose, but I think it's meant to be that way. I would definitly buy them again!

What is the biggest difference between the lobster bib and the foundation bib? Is one more waterproof than the other? Which one is better insulated and which one has better venting? Would my wife find me sexier in one more than the other. What do you call a camel with no humps?

the Lobster bib is more of a freeride fit, it is in the cryptic collection while the foundation bib is from the outerwear collection and is more mountaineer style. they have similar water proofness, and your wife would prefer to see you in the lobster!

Black and Bittersweet Brown, the ones in the pulldown menu.The "Black" colorway you see is actually the correct image, it is called "black" by TNF but it's not a straight black pant- there is black thread intertwined with a light grey color.
