some advice!

I got this jacket today, I ordered a M size. I'm 5ft 7.5 and weigh about 124 pounds - its a little bulky on the arms, chest and back. But the sleeves are the collect length! should i get this in a smaller size or is this size fine?

Not my Favorite

I got this jacket in the mail today. Arrived in good condition. Has many nice features: 2 -in-1 jacket, the jacket inside is easy to zip/unzip again, the hood is nice and roomy, extra pockets, velcro wrist sleeves. This jacket was not I was looking for. Its a bit on the heavy side for me. The outer layer is a heavy fabric and the color is not good for my color wheel. It appears to have some type of water treatment on the outer shell. Definitely would be great if I went skiing. I'm 5'3 tall and 130 pounds. It was slightly big for me, but its probably the way its been designed - so you can move in the snow. Sad it didn't work out. Returning it today.

Hi Christy, you need to use your waist/chest sizes to determine the correct size jacket to order...

I'm totally happy with this jacket, it took me forever to find one. But this jacket has everything what I wanted and fullfilled my expectations. It keeps me warm in the cold weather and dry in the rain.Love the color and all the little details. The only advice I would like to give is, that tall people may don't like it, because the jacket is very short.

Great Coat!!

January 2, 2011

New ski coat for Christmas...just put through its paces skiing all kinds of weather in Idaho. It was perfect in heavy snow, skiing deep powder all day on the first day of our trip. I wasn't too cold or too hot. I never was a bit wet. I even could get the hood up over my helmet when it was really blowing. Then it turned really cold and that jacket system worked well at 5-10 degrees too. There were plenty of pockets for all of those little things I want to tuck in and bring. It was easy to put the two jackets together and take them apart so I could wear the inner layer alone in the car on the way down the mountain. My kids said they always knew where I was (thanks to the bright color) and my husband said it looked trim. I'm very happy with it.

It's not fleece. It's a synthetic inside with somewhat shiny outer layer. To picture it, think of the "poofy" down jackets. This liner is just thin and not down.

Love it!

I bought this jacket two years ago in the bright pinky/orange color. The inner jacket is a light red color.

There isn't anything I don't like about this jacket, lots of handy pockets, vents, draw strings etc keep me toasty warm while I am outside playing in the snow and the inner jacket is very cool, I get lots of compliments when I wear that on its own.

I chose the bright pink/orange color because I wear the jacket in areas where hunting is allowed and this way I don't have to wear hunter orange vests over the top of my jacket.

I chose a size S, I am 112 pounds, 5'6 tall and it fits a little loose, but that's just the way I like it, not too tight and I can play without feeling restricted.

Great Jacket

By:
January 16, 2011

I love love outside color jacket. It's a little bulky but it does the job of keeping you warm. I love the many pockets and being able to take off and on the inside jacket. I would defintely buy another for a friend or family memeber.

I have a few questions...does the hood zip off? Is the retro pink true to the color shown here in the picture? and I am 5'7 and 125 pounds...would a small or medium fit better? Thank you to all that help! I am in desperate need of a good winter coat!

Yes, the hood zips off. I just bought this coat. I think it's a really good winter coat because the outer shell is very waterproof and durable, and it's warranted for life. If you have anything else made by TNF, like a Denali fleece or a Nuptse poofy, they will zip in to make it even warmer. As far as the size, you might run into a problem with the sleeve length if you get a small. But order 2 sizes and send one back because it's really easy.

No Venting

By:
January 3, 2011

Be warned, this jacket has NO venting. I really can't believe that TNF would make a ski jacket that has no venting. Will be returning.
