Description

For wet days on the hill and around town.

Designed with simple, smooth lines and three-in-one functionality, The North Face Women's Kira Triclimate Jacket takes you from the street to the snow. Use the shell jacket to fend off heavy, wet weather, and wear the wavy-quilting insulated liner jacket when bitter cold strikes. Both the removable insulator jacket and the shell feature The North Face's legendary attention to detail and quality that ensures this combo will last winter after winter.
  • HyVent 2L shell jacket has a waterproof breathable membrane that keeps you dry from wet weather outside while still allowing sweaty vapor to escape underneath the shell
  • Fully taped seams add to overall wet-weather protection by eliminating the potential for moisture to enter at fabric interfaces
  • Front hand pockets in the shell and fleece hold small essentials and have a clever vented backing so the pockets double as ventilation points
  • Small features on the shell jacket like a removable hood, core vents, and a powder skirt, add to overall comfort amid harsh weather
  • Insulated liner jacket has fun wavy-quilted lines and can be worn alone on mild days or it can be zipped into the shell to serve as an insulating layer
  • Zip-in compatibility allows you to use a variety of The North Face shells or insulating layers with either the Triclimate's shell or inner jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I took this coat to Vail in February. Temperatures ranged from -6 up to the teens and low twenties. This coat kept me very warm and was very functional. No wind got through! I also had many compliments on the look. Runs true to size with room to layer underneath. The inner zip-out jacket is also really cute all by itself for warmer days.

I purchased my usual size but it was tight through the shoulders and body - exchanged it for a size larger which is a good fit. Very attractive, versatile jacket. Also, my Denali jacket is zip-in compatible!

Is the hood removable? It looks a little large.

The hood is not removable and it is going to be a little oversized as it's made to accommodate fitting over a helmet.

I purchased this jacket and the hood IS removable. I don't think it's as large as it looks - it's a shell, uninsulated, with a small visor extension. Also has a toggle drawstring at back of head to adjust fit.

What level of waterproofing and breathability is it? 10,000 or 20,000

Pam, The North Face uses its own system for testing this -- but I think this jacket would be closer to 10K than 20K.
