I am looking to purchase this for my mom for Christmas and am wondering about sizing. She is about 5'1" and about 110lbs. Should i go with the S or XS?

Honestly it depends on how she likes the fit, but I would probably go with XS.

Hi there! I'm looking to purchase a christmas present for my mother. She is an active runner, and wants a NF vest for a present this year. She usually runs 3 days a week outside, and the distance can be anywhere from 5k to 10k. She is about 5' tall and 140lbs. Any recommendations? The khumbu fleece looks nice but I'm not sure if the fleece will get wet with sweat while she is running? Thanks, Sonny in PA

One thing to keep in mind is that most fleece, due to the way the fibers are held together, tend to be hydrophobic. For this reason, even with DWR treatments, they can take on sweat and water. However the Khumbu fleece utilizes a hard face type fleece, minimizing the overall space between the surface of the jacket and the lofted fibers against the body. For this reason it will wick sweat faster than a traditional fleece, and its athletic cut holds the garment closer to the body increasing evaporation. For this reason, if sized properly, your mother should stay comfortable while running.
Love it.

This vest is great! It's my first North Face product and it definitely won't be my last. I'm from IN and this keeps me nice and warm, it's very good as a layering piece. The only thing I'd say could be negative is the color, not a true black, more of a charcoal or lighter black, which I personally like.
Awesome Vest

This vest is very versatile, both lightweight but sturdy and warm. It fits great under my denali fleece and helps keep my core warm without adding extra bulk.
It looks great under a fleece or by itself. I have a large North Face collection, and this fleece is by far my favorite piece. At this price, I hope to get another soon!
I love my vest!

I love the fit of this vest and it's very high quality. But it's dark grey rather than black, which means it doesn't match all the black things i wanted it to match! I returned it.
Great addition to my North Face "stuff"

I'm not one for layers, but after months of hearing "your fingers are cold because your core is cold" I figured I'd get a vest. I prefer TNF gear because I'm confident of it's fit - this one is true to size. I got the brown since it looks great with a fitted tee and jeans. Definitely a longer vest if that's something you're looking for.

It's a warm vest with a snug fit that's good for wearing under a coat, or by itself. It's tailored enough to wear to restaurants. I'm 5'5" and about 125 and the medium fits perfectly. The brown is a nice earthy shade.

I want a NF vest for Christmas. I need a vest that is long in the back as I have a very long torso. Should I get the Khumbu or the windwall? Must also be warm and I hope a bit fitted without being tight like the Samantha.
