The winner for my trip...

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Hunted all around for a new 0 degree bag to take up Aconcagua. Used it recently on Shasta and it was very warm sleeping on snow. The interior fabric is very soft and quiet, the zipper works well compared to the other bags I tried, nice wide foot box, and the whole bag is roomier for those of us who can't stand the tight mummy feel. The only negative I see so far is that there is a elastic cinch cord which is positioned right in the center top interior of the bag and will dangle around your chin/neck area when cinched. At least it's easy to find but location seems weird.

The synthetic insulation pads NF added for pressure points seem like a good idea but couldn't really tell the difference yet.

Very warm!

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Used this for a hike/camp up to Longs Peak on 4-19-14. Temps got down to 10 degrees. Used the sleeping bag, silk liner and a thermorest 1" self inflating pad inside of a Trango 2 tent. We camped at 11,500' on snow, and I stayed warm enough that I had to keep the bag 1/3 unzippe so that I didnt over heat in it. I easily trust this bag at 0 degrees and IMO you could go lower with the proper liner.

Good choice for winter trips!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great warm sleeping bag for those cold winter camping/backcountry trips. Comes with a compression sack and a bag to keep the sleeping bag in during the off season. This is great because keeping your sleeping bag compressed all the time can lead to clumping and cold spots. As stated below a water proof compression sack would be preferable but if your not going to be in an area where you'll be getting wet its less of a problem. It has a 2 way zipper that allows you to vent any heat you get around your legs but still keeping your upper body warm at the same time. The foot box also has extra down blown into it to keep your feet warm. The inter liner also feels and looks great.

Compression sack with bag inside.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Although this compression sack works pretty well I think that I will be buying a different compression sack. I want a compression sack that is waterproof and compresses the bag more. However, very cool of The North Face to include a compression sack with the Sleeping Bag.

Great first impressions.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is a photo of everything this sleeping bag comes with. This sleeping bag includes a storage sack (located on the lower left hand side of the photo) and a compression sack (located on the upper left hand side of the photo). As far as the bag goes I am very happy with my purchase. The bag is very light, warm, and compressible. I spent the night in it in my bed when I got it and was warm and comfortable. The inside of the bag is a very soft material that I love. I will write another review after I use it in the field. So far so good.

Great first impressions.
