Nice looking layer, but...

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

I ordered one for snowboarding as a base layer. I'm 5'11, 195lbs and the Large seems to fit well all the way around. Not too tight, not too loose. Sleeves are a good length, but the shirt seemed really short to me. With my arms straight out at my sides, it raised well above my waist. Just an invitation for snow to go down.

Looks sharp all around

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

5ft8, 155, got a medium and it fits perfectly with only a shirt underneath. Very sharp looking, was going to use it for running but it's nice enough that I also wear it out. Material is very soft so beware as your significant other might acquire it for sleeping purposes....

Perfect for any activity

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I got this primarily for a trip to Africa but I can't stop wearing it. It is perfect for that morning ride or hike that still has a little nip in the air. It breathes well and fits great.

A Base Layer Gift

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large

Sometimes in adversity you're given opportunities to gain awesome life and the Impulse was a plus for my base layer arsenal. I haven't had much of a chance to hammer in it, but impressed with it so far. I'm 6' 175 lbs and was given a medium and it's very generous in sizing. Maybe it's telling me that I need to bulk up some. I'll come back in a month and update it's durability after hammering on bikes, skiing and climbing in it. Meanwhile Get Your Goat On!!!

It got a little cold so I whipped this out and was fine the rest of the hike.

Love it

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I use this as a light weight pull over while hiking. It is very comfortable and does a good job keeping you warm when the temps dip a bit. It is small and light weight so it does not take up much room in your pack. I have the last years version which has the pocket on the left arm but it still is so low profile you don't even know it is there. I love this thing and use it all the time, I am even wearing it right now as I write this review.

Fantastic Shirt But....

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I bought this shirt to run in, and absolutely love it. It keeps me warm yet is still very breathable as my body heat rises. I went with the High-Rise Grey/Asphalt Grey Combo with the Red Piping, and I think it is super sharp looking.

Now for the reason I put the "But" in my review title.

I've worn the shirt no more than 6 times since I purchased it, and based on the fact that I am running in it I've needed to wash it after each use. And I am not sure what is causing it but the shirt has gotten massive pulls/catches in the material, two of which have lead to small holes. Now I understand that these things can happen but I've only worn the shirt 6 times, and for it to have 2 holes in it now, in complete different areas of the shirt after spending $70 on it, seems a bit ridiculous. It just seems as though the shirt wasn't made to last, so as a result I have to give the shirt a low rating.

I will say if you purchasing this item only to wear around town because it looks great go for it, but if you are going to be washing it repeatedly beware.

Responded on

Just a thought, but are you washing it with any items that have Velcro? The hook side of Velcro will absolutley DESTROY almost any performance fabric.

Nice layering piece

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

Picked up this version in red (an awesome color combo!) and last year's model from the Outlet. The improvement on the pocket location year over year is great. Last year's pocket on the sleeve is useless - can't get it open. This year's pocket is easier to open with leverage.

It's a great piece for layering or wearing around town as a quick grab-n-go. Haven't had a run in it yet, but I really love the weight. Wish it had a little more insulation to it so that I could have it be warmer - but I think as a layer, it will do the trick
