The western half of Washington State is renown for wet weather, so it's a good thing you've lashed The North Face HyVent Hiker Hat to the top of your pack before hitting a trail in the Olympic National Park. HyVent 2L fabric blocks rain and breathes for a comfortable-headed hike, and a brushed sweatband prevents your vision from being clouded when the uphill gets strenuous. Faced with flat light in a misty drizzle? Adjust the brim with the hook-and-loop attachments.

Nothing Special

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I got this for my man to help keep him out of the sun boating the Grand Canyon. It's easy to pack- you can scrunch it and it will pop right back to shape. Sizing is true, and the chin strap is perfect to keep it in place. The sides do fold up and velcro in place, but it's a little awkward in that the brim still has a flat spot before the fold so your hat looks square. Overall, it's a hat and provides shade, but it's really nothing exceptional or cool
