The North Face HyVent Hiker Hat protects your face and ears from the sun, and this brimmed hat handles light rain showers. The North Face made the Hiker Hat with breathable HyVent fabric and then treated it with a DWR coating. The Hiker Hat has fold-up side brims so you can customize your coverage for maximum sun or rain protection.

The side brims use Velcro® in case anyone was wondering.

The size is adjusted with a synch chord that pulls out the back of the hat. Similar to adjusting the hood on a shell.

A couple of months back at a beer festival in Forest Park (St. Louis) I received quite the sunburn, mostly to the top of my head and areas that I thought I'd covered with sunblock, but the sun disagreed. I was told by my wife-to-be that I have to start wearing a brimmed hat on such occasions (i.e. not a baseball cap). So we bought this hat. It's not really my style, but I'm getting use to it, and now have a full scalp of skin - and hair - to show for it.

Naturally by wearing a hat like this it will protect you from the sun, however there is no UVA, UVB specified protection.

Check out that link- This is Columbia's Omni-Shade collection. I don't see there are any hats right now but keep watching our stock or check for this item elsewhere. As far as I'm concerned, Columbia is the only brand with something like this.
