Just OK in hot climates, but cute!

I bought this skirt for a trip to India hoping that it would be suitable and modest enough for the climate and culture. Modest, yes, suitable for very hot weather, almost. I really like the fit and length and the color (moab khaki) was great for hiding a couple weeks worth of dirt and grime in India. The embroidery along the hem is very cute as well. The only problem is that I did get REALLY hot in this skirt - like, dripping sweat down my legs, hot. The skirt itself is narrow and there is no slit so airflow is an issue. The material is not very breathable. I stayed much cooler in the simple long cotton skirts I found at Goodwill! If this skirt had a zippered slit, it would be much improved. I'm actually thinking about asking a tailor to put one in. If 90-100 degree heat is not a concern, then this skirt is great. For keeping cool, there are better options.

The North Face Hutton Skirt

The skirt is really pretty -- i got the avocado, but although i am between a 4 and a 6 in most skirts, i found the small to be a bit slim, and was uncertain as to whether this fabric could shrink or not. Since i was not sure as to how North Face clothes fit, i had ordered both the S and the M, and kept the M. It needed ironing out of the pkg., but since i haven't washed it yet, i don't know how it will be after washing. the flutter bottom w/ the embroidery is a great touch!
